Upgrading from 95' Camry...who's got me beat?
Currently driving a 95 Toyota Camry that I've had for about 8 years...got it back in high school. Nearly 200,000 miles. This car is going to be a huge upgrade for me, anyone got an older car that they use as their DD now? I will continue to drive the Camry to work until I completely wear it out and use the FR-s as my weekend car until then.

I have all of you guys beat by a LONG way.
Check this out. My dad and I sort of share this car (really its his). But I'm pretty sure this is going to be mine one day. Before anyone asks, my family is mostly english and so is the car. 1959 Jensen 541-R GT - My Grandfather is the designer of this car. There is only 43 of them in the world with the same DS7 engine like we have. The car is also Fiberglass. EDIT: I guess I should also say, this car is almost all original. The engine and tranny is the original and the engine has less then 60,000 miles on it. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z..._album/056.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z..._album/058.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z..._album/043.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z..._album/046.jpg I'm sure you guys have lots of questions. So fire away! I can tell you everything about this car. bneale |

Actually I am getting my this car for my GF. She been wanting it for awhile. She currently riding a broom.
:lol:JK |
1987 Toyota MR2 with roughly 200k miles on the chassis. Manual windows/locks/mirrors/seats, no power steering, no A/C, no ABS, no traction or stability control, no airbags, no TPMS, no navigation, bluetooth, or even more than 4 speakers!
Just 2300lbs and 165hp mated to a 5spd gearbox driving the rear wheels. It will be relegated to track car status! I can't suffer having it as a daily driver anymore. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...dtop/040-1.jpg |
from a 97 rav4 to 09 Sienna(family car) hopefully 2013 Raven FRS... anxious to go back to stick since i got here in the US. It would be a nice MT comeback for me..!!

Upgrading from a 1993 honda accord with 240,000 miles. I've driven it since I have been 15 (now 23), man I can't wait to get my paws on this car and tear around until I'm driving on the metal belts.

thats funny i started off back when i was 16 with a 92 camry.... i ended up swapping in a V6 from a 4runner and a solara trans and a mr2 shifter, even gutted it lol...

89 celica (3sge)- bought it 12 years ago with 180,000km - Now it has 450,000kms.
current reco motor has 150,000kms current reco gearbox has 60,000kms No AC - got re-gassed and keeps leaking. dodgy rust repairs - grind it back and spray paint - just to pass rego. leaking power steering fluid for 8 years. top up every 3-4 weeks. leaking engine oil for 4 years - half a litre every month 2nd gear popping out all the time. doesnt start everyday. some days i have to clutch start it. nearly every part has been changed at least once. I hate to say it, but the car is still heaps of fun to drive. as much as i hate it, i cant deny how much i love it. i have been dieing for the 86 to come out for the last few years. Kept putting off buying a twin turbo RZ supra, in hope the 86 would come out and after a few years of waiting, i can finally get it in the next 2 months (hopefully) Dont even have a price for it yet in Australia. !!!! Toyota said they will give me $500 for trade in... I said i rather give it to toyota for free if you they crush it into a cube in front of me. |

Not getting an FR-S/BRZ right away, but am keeping an eye on things for a year or two in the future. I was gung-ho about getting one until a few months ago. I really need a different vehicle first (some beefy truck or mid-sized suv for outdoor adventures). Also, I just am not as excited about it as most of the enthusiasts who are scrambling for these right now, so I figured I would let the serious buyers have their cars first.
Currently rolling everywhere in a 1992 Celica ST (4a-fe) with 190k on it. Bought it 9 years ago. She has her problems, but the drive train is not one of them. Bad paint, some rust, and a lot of little things make it seem worse than it is. |

That's not entirely true. It is and can be used as a DD. My dad just chooses not too. It runs like a champ and everyone loves the car, but you have to remember only 43 of them in the world exist. So while he does drive it to the office everyday (exactly like I would), he only takes it out when he can really care for it. It's probably worth over 100K. So yeah we don't just park it somewhere unattended. But it does get driven regularly. bneale |
My DD is a 1996 Camry V6 XLE.....Hello snoozeville
I am proud of it though, as weird as that sounds. It has 140,000 miles and it looks beautiful cosmetically, the interior is clean as can be, and the engine runs like a top. Really can't justify getting rid of it so hopefully I can give it back to my parents. Here's the most recent picture I have...middle of a brake job, threw on some brembo OE rotors and HAWK HPS pads. Note the ultra gangster tint :bellyroll: http://i.imgur.com/yQYKu.jpg When the weather's looking nice though..... http://i.imgur.com/L12jC.jpg |

I ended up trading it for my current Audi for about 4K. bneale |

I wasn't too impressed at first but after flushing the brake fluid and waiting a few hundred miles before going rough on it....These brakes kick ass now. It's a shame that the front rotors are made in china even though the rears are italian. |

I drove it for 2 weeks like that. As you say, loud as hell. I miss my Integra. It was better to me in terms of maintenance then my bloody Audi. Exactly why I'm trading in that pile for the FR-S. bneale |
I feel like im downgrading. my 06 Tacoma 4x4 only has 45k and still worth 20k.

Nice truck! My friend might be getting one soon. I worked for Toyota last year and got to borrow a loaner 2011 V6 quad cab to tow an AE86 Corolla up from CT. Easy as pie towing with that truck! I got 20mpg avg for the whole trip and it didn't break a sweat.
I also feel like I'm downgrading, going from my leased 2012 Audi S4 to this car. A $53,000 German Autobahn slayer to a $30k tinny Japanese sports car. Oh well, it's what I've been waiting for for years! It's a major upgrade from my '87 MR2, anyway. Besides, the S4 is more of a grown-up's sports sedan anyway. When I'm in my late 30's I'll get another one. |
