Titanium exhaust
Hey guys,
I have invidia q300 titanium tips. The color on the tips are fading . Do anybody know how to rejuvenate and bring back the blue on the tips? |
Typically the blue tips are created using a torch. If you have watched the new /Drive videos of the Koenigsegg One:1, they show it being down to their titanium exhaust tip. I am at work so I can't post the video.
I would try cleaning the tips as best you can and then just try burning them again. I have never done this but it seems logical in my head. I just googled it and found two different methods (the second is like my suggestion): 1. http://my350z.com/forum/body-interio...-titanium.html 2. http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/diy-h...ue-purple.html |
Thanks bro! Hope it works

Just try cleaning it with some lime away. That always helps with my TT N1

I heard somewhere that the Q300 tip was a chemical process, not a burning process, so maybe just try and cleaning them up before you try the torch method?

Don't use anything with Oxalic acid (barkeepers friend etc). I'm pretty sure it will damage titanium

Knife guys use windex to clean their flame anod titanium handles. Always brings back the color. You may want to give that a try.

But just use alligator clips and a piece of foil wrapped In a paper towel and dip it in the coke and rub it on the titanium. Works really well plus you control the color the longer your in a spot |
