Greddy Oil Drain Plug - Leaking

Hi guys,

I installed a Greddy oil drain plug in my car. It did not have any leaks after I did my first oil change (obviously when I swapped it in). But after the second oil change (new crush washer) it started leaking. I torqued it down to factory specs. I just did my fourth oil change a few hours ago and just saw a small pool of oil under the car. Not huge, probably a few good sized drops. :sigh: Going to go back to the OEM drain plug when I do another oil change in a few weeks after a track day just to stop the leaking.

Was wondering if anybody also had the same issue?

Not common but for future to note a quick valve by "Fumoto" is quick. Once on it's there for life and so clean and simple to do oil changes with. If it's the magnetic attraction there are filter mags and also filters like PMU and HKS that have magnetized filters to.

Was the factory Subaru washer glued/painted to the oil pan?

I want Fumoto, I want magnets to catch bits and I want Hachi Roku OEM Oil filter... Decisions decisions...

Negative.

BTW does anyone know if I can reuse my engine oil if I swap out the plug? It is literally brand new, just put the fresh engine oil in yesterday.

I really want to stop this leak.

Why wouldn't you be able to reuse it? Just make sure you catch all your used-new oil in a clean(ish) pan.

Solution right here... it's either 1x crush washer, or 1x normal washer. Not both!

I also highly recommend the Fumoto valve. Just raise the front of the car high enough to reach the plug and slide a low profile drain pan under there.

It makes oil changes are so easy on this car it gives me wet tip.
