car beeping after engine shuts off
 

hey guys,

so today my car started giving me the beeping warning which usually happens when you leave your lights on. Three times I've taken my car out today, and all three times after turning off the engine the sound starts. There's nothing that's left on in the car, I don't know if this is just a sensor gone bad? When I close the door it goes away obviously. Anybody else experience this? Or am I stupid and have something on, or pressed that I don't know about that can cause this?

if you hit the engine start/off button after you open your door it'll beep i believe. car off w/o door closed before opening door = should be no beep

It may be still detecting the key fob? Do you have a spare somewhere?

yeah I have a spare at home, I could give that one a try when I'm off work

hm..ironically, i might've had my door open all three times today? lol. I will do a quick test once I'm off work and see if that's the issue.

did you steal something from the department store?

I had the same experience some what before. The car beeps even there is no key in the ignition when I open the door or when I lock the door it still show on the dash board that a door is still open. I went to my dealer to have it checked/serviced and they discovered a broken fuse, they changed the broken fuse for free. My point is I want to know why/how it happened but they can't explain. Ever since I had no problems. Also I bought a cheap fuse checker from pep boys if ever it happens again. I hope this information help you.

If your spare key is left in the car it will do this.

My daughter did me a "favor" and got in my car with the spare key to clean my windows.
Car was beeping for a few days before I figured out she left the spare key fob in the back seat....

Thanks for all your help. Opening my door before hitting the start/stop button is the reason for the beep. However, the fuse situation is odd. I'll definitely have to stop by and pick one up from my local pep boys and keep in the car. :thumbsup:
