MAPerformance turbo kit thread!

Does any customer have this kit installed and tuned yet?

It looks very nice

MAPerformance 04-17-2014 05:06 PM

I have had my kit on for 4k miles so far, and love it. We also have @SmsAlSuwaidi who has his installed on on the dyno as we speak running a GTX3076R
http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps849d6db5.jpg

We also have a kit going to @mhiscott in Canada, and another kit going to a guy in Texas running a Precision 6266 and a Crawford built block. Hopefully we will have them chime in once they are running!

Was hanging around for a bit today while your car was being tuned, smsalsuwaidi. I think you'll be pretty impressed, that turbo comes on HARD.

She sounds monstrous. I'll put it this way...I think your car made the best numbers on that dyno for 91 out of all the other turbo kits Bill has tuned so far. Much better midrange than the ptuning kit as well.

She seemed pretty solid as far as I could tell. I think now they're just giving her the finishing touches on the tune and she'll be good to go ;)

No problem, that must be what those big VP bottles were for lol. Forgot you had that setup going on. I'll make sure and stop by tomorrow, I'd love to see what she puts down on E85. Which turbo is your kit running, the gt3076r?

You never know. At least it's not the 4862 or whatever, that turbo would've run out of breathing room already and not done much else on E85 :P Only one way to find out! :burnrubber:

speed6sam 04-18-2014 12:37 AM

Do you guys sell the modified radiator support separately as well?

Any reason for not running aluminum intake pipes? (Just curious)

lexusb3 04-18-2014 09:58 AM

Any plans for high boost! Past about 16psi at least since that turbo is efficient at those levels? Nice setup

He should be doing that today. They are going to throw E85 in and turn it up;)

I really hope so we make it happen today or tomorrow. I feel like my exhaust might restrict me after 16 psi though :). My goal is to really get close to 400whp on this dyno, which should be some decent power

3" from the turbo all the way to the catback. The issue is it contains about 4 resonators + 1 cat right in front of the turbo

 my goal was always 450+ on a dyno jet and a high 11 second car :)

No, we made him a 3" DP to mate to his Nameless 3" OP/FP.

Edit: They are too fast for me lol

R3VOLUTION 04-18-2014 02:26 PM

I think this car would be perfect with right around 400WHP/350WTQ. Plenty of balls, but nothing too wild to make your motors blow left and right.

Depends on how long you want that motor to last lol

With the right tuning on their Stage 2 setup and all the appropriate modifications I bet you could make a motor last 100K. It's all in the tune and making sure the fueling is adequate and consistent.

cdrazic93 04-18-2014 02:39 PM

I would feel comfortable about just throwing a kit on there and making 300WHP/250-275WTQ any day, but at more than double the stock power to the wheels, I would inspect the internals first. Idk maybe I'm just too cautious.

I'd do internals at double, sorry I thought I included that up front. Stage 1 would be perfectly fine on the stock motor, stage 2 would be fine to a point. MAP would know better than I about that, but really the biggest thing that will help longevity is (assuming you maintain the car and it's all set up appropriately) the tune. MAP's parts are always fantastic so there's little worry there.

Not really to be honest. Our fab guys like that it is a bit more robust, and easier to weld.

Someone made a 3 inch over pipe!? I was thinking about getting your 3 inch cat back but didn't know how much louder it would be on than my Q300 and catless resonantor-less system

MAPerformance 04-19-2014 01:38 PM

Yeah, its hard to tell. I think its perfect on my really, but I know the turbo is helping a bit.

The best kit out there :). Its been a journey, but I'm glad to see its almost 100% done and I'm hitting the dyno this weekend to break 400whp on a mustang dyno that reads 20~18% lower than a dyno jet

Can't wait! How has the kit been performing so far on the base map?

MAPerformance 05-10-2014 04:14 PM

@SmsAlSuwaidi, once you get done driving around today, don't be shy to post some goodies in here:thumbsup: Congrats by the way! I think I need a 3076R now:mad0260:
