a video taken at the last ORP club event (2014-8-30) I was able to improve my best lap time by 4 seconds!! thanks to Raybestos ST43 pads and the new Z214s..

It started soon after my second session and never stopped :/ I should be able to squeeze another second or two

Very cool, helpful video, thanks. It's gonna be busy out there! Looks like about 14 shifts per lap compared to 6 at PIR with the chicane. Really like the rhythm sections and elevation changes, can't wait!

you're welcome.. and I am glad I only attend ORP's own club events since there are tons of seat time ;) at this event there were only 4 cars including me

Hey TD glad to see you've been confirmed. You'll love ORP, best track in the NW! See you soon.

Is there anything besides porta potties at ORP? I'd like to drive out Monday morning in more comfy shorts, tee and sandals then change at the track, preferably somewhere other than inside a honey bucket.

Lunatic 09-04-2014 03:39 PM

Nothing but porta pottys at this time. They are in the process of building new rest room/showers but that won't be ready till next year.

Guess I could change in the car before the driver's meeting or at the gas station.

About gas, Gmaps shows a Shell at the I-84/97 junction and was going to top off there since I didn't see a Shell or Chevron the rest of the 30 miles to the track. Is there one of them in Moro or Grass Valley?

Also, somewhere on the ORP site it said they have unleaded "clear" non-ethanol gas available there for $5.50/gal. or so. Is there some advantage to that? What's the octane? Is availability a sure thing? At the track altitude my stock car will already be down 16 hp and will need all the help I can get!

I filled up at that Shell last time I went and brought along a 5 gallon gas can, that was plenty to get me through the day. As for the gas offered, I have no idea what the octane rating is.

I found their info again. They sell "clear" 92 octane for $5.50/gal.

It seems like filling at the I-84 Shell and running an estimated 8, 20 minute stints (80 miles in my dreams) would leave enough to make it 30 miles back to the Shell station on fumes. I hate the idea of carrying any gas in the trunk.
