2013 vs 2014

Hello folks,
I recently fell in love with the fr-s, now it's time to get one! I see used 2013s around 22k while the new 2014 is around 26k. Where there any changes between the years reliability wise ect.? Would it be worth saving around 4 grand for the 13 or pay more for the 14? Thanks for the input guys. JJ

If I could do it again I would get a used one for cheaper, caring for a brand new car can be a pain at times.

Hi jayjules and welcome.

The base models in 2013 are about the same in 2014.

You can get a new 2013 model for a bit less than the 2014.

Don't bother with a used one for 22K. At that price, you might as well get a new one.

I'm going to some dealerships tomorrow. Hope I can find the one for me.

Don't buy one hoping for power. That's my advice.

if you've waited this long, might as well wait for the TRD edition or the BRZ S edition, if you're into that sort of stuff. Also if i were you i'd get a monogram FR-S if possible.

Might as well wait to see what's going to change in 2015!

I was once in your shoe, just got mine in Jan. I did some research, and of course they're not much differences to the two. I even went to the dealer ship asking for the 2014, and they didn't have one in stock. I asked if there were any differences too. Even the dealer didn't think there were a differences to it. I end up getting myself the Special Edition Scion. It's a 2013 and if I'm correct it basically got what the 2014 have. I could had waited to see what the 2015 got in store for us, but I waited too long to wait any longer. If you could wait, wait and see if they're adding anything interesting to the 2015 scion.

Any ideas on the release date for the 2015 or are there just rumors?

Production starts June from everything I've seen posted

Ive been reading about chirping noises coming from the fuel pumps of the earlier models. Has this problem been resolved in the newer models?

Touch screen head unit would be the only noticeable difference for me, it's gotten mixed reviews, happier with the 'crappy' unit on the '13.

Most cars chirp at some point, there's no point worrying about it unless you think it would turn you off the car completely.
