Which Headlights / Fog Lights to choose?
Hi All,
I got in an accident and will have to replace headlights and fog lights. I want to upgrade from stock. I keep going back and forth between two headlights: Option 1: http://viciousled.com/wp-content/upl....1280.1280.jpg Option 2: http://i.imgur.com/GqewFo5.jpg The color of my car is ASPHALT. I don't know which could look better. And I currently don't have fog lights, so I would be getting a kit. For either of these, I was considering: http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server37...0.1280.jpg?c=1 What's your opinion everyone? I have to make a decision by Thursday. I am new to making modifications to my car, so if you guys have recommendations to which headlights / fog light kit to choose, please share. THANKS :) |
They are all ugly! But is your choice! Peace

I'll try and help you out but I think you'll find most people will say "it's your car, your choice"...
Winjets = replica 86 lights...the one you showed in pic is black housing (can also get chrome)...They are nice but I've read of some issues...If you want to go this route and budget is a concern, get the real thing Spec-D = Not released yet, but there are vendors offering $50 pre-orders for when they release in a few weeks...Look good but I heard they are more "purple" colour than most people would want LED DRL = I have these on mine...look great, but offer 0 functionality...The light is scattered so if you use these without your headlights the road surface will be dark My suggestion: - 86 lights (the way this car should be) - OEM fog lights (look great AND functional) Total cost: ~$2200 + 350 = $2550 |
I like the Spec D tuning ones more because of the BRZ boomerang but I hate that it has turn signal LED's inside the headlight, but our stock FR-S headlights don't have a turn signal in the headlights, so you'd have to splice your turn signal wires for those headlights to work properly. Winjet's on the other hand are completely plug and play.

The option 2 lights looks really good. Get those.
And forget the led drl strip in the fog light area. Both light options you posted have led drl. Just put fog lights in that fog light area. But if you are going through insurance, just have them get the OEM JDM headlights that retail for ~$2k for a pair. |
For asphalt i'd go with Black Winjets and oem fogs, I like Diode Dynamics fog light kit since it comes with JDM bezels, if budget is a concern you can also get the winjet fog lights they just come with a really glossy bezel

I recently installed the Diode Dynamics kit...extremely happy. It's a pretty good price, too.

Do you two have a link to check out the Kit you're referring to?

@whitedemon check out viciousled.com that's where I was going to buy through, but I am still going back and forth. Do you know a website to look at the 86 headlights?
