How do you like the ST coilovers btw? Any track experience with them? |

I worded that in a confusing way haha. I've had the coilovers on for about 6k miles now, no track yet(been a busy year haha) but for daily/aggressive canyon its been great. |

No worries  what kind of spoiler is that btw? |

I know it depends on setup, track, tires and driver but i want to know how YOU would align it.
I will be running on street tires but will sometimes run on slicks, slicks will prefer more camber. As far as setup, my alignment will dictacte my setup if i need -3.5 in front and can't get over 2,8, i will buy parts to make it happen, simple as that. We will do a lot of test and tune on the alignment, just wanted to know what to start with, i am pretty setup on -3,5 front and 2 or 3 in the rear, not sure. For caster, we will get as much as we can and toe we'll have to try depending on how the car drives but we will start at 0 everywhere. |
I'm on Fortune coils with 6k and 7k springs with whiteline RLCA's. I went with -2F and -3R based on someones recommendations on here and my car feels very sticky in the turns. I havent got a chance to do a track day or autoX with it yet but I want to so I can see how much understeer is left. My car is also quite low so I should probably raise it up a bit.

Eibach sways and everything white line makes. I chose this setup based of a buddy of mine who races his and so far I really like the sharp turn in and controllability. My car is probably too low but after my next race I may raise it up and change. I like a bit of oversteer.

dream track alignment?
Quick update...my -3.4f/-2.7r worked very well on track, and I was set up a couple of cm lower than Ohlins spec. Had manageable oversteer at the limit on track, may also be due to pretty stiff Ohlins settings -4 clicks front and -5 clicks rear, next time will go with -6f/-7r.
Now have a new car with the same Ohlins but at their recommended -20mm drop front and -15mm drop rear and -3f/-2.5r camber with 1/16 toe in rear. You may want to zero out the toe, I just want to try this out. Will update this post with impressions after track days in early July. Car seems to drive a little better on the street with this new setup. |

Try changing the damping settings mid-session, so that you can compare the results back to back. Do you have your LSD in yet? |

I am at 700mi now with the new car so still not pushing it hard. Will try out different damper settings at the WGI track in early July...it's a fast and unforgiving track so I hope to get things right the first time around. Car behaves very well on the street at Ohlins spec height and new camber. I think that I will lose some crispness in handling with spec height and less camber, but don't mind having it adjusted again until it's just right. I'll have camber adjusted twice per year for summer and winter anyway. JR SC behaves differently on the manual due to trannies and I like it even a little bit more on a manual. If only this shifter were a little less notchy...heavier Raceseng shift knob helps and hope mtech springs and reinforcements below the deck will help. OSGiken is going in on 7/16...have to figure out more track days to test it out. Thanks |
