Vacuum Leak??
I am having what I think is a vacuum leak. Trouble is, I can't find it.
I can hear a very loud sucking (vacuum) coming from directly next to the intake/throttle. The car runs waaaaay lean at idle (19s+). I step on the gas and it gets better. I initially assumed I blew a vacuum line off, as I have done this before and it was easy to see. This time I don't see anything. I am at a complete loss as to what it could be. I am hoping there is some hidden line that came undone.. :iono: |
check the hose that is under intake manifold, behind AC compressor

There's that one vacum line that's under the intake manifold that awlays pops off on FI cars.
It popped off on mine, it's common on FI cars and you just need to put a clamp on it and you're good to go. Do a search too, there's a bit of info here about this. |
I'm searching and not finding anything.. maybe I am retarded.
Anyone have any pictures? I swear I checked every one.. I would love you forever if you have a picture. |

I love you (if this is the one) IDK how I couldn't find this in my search.. That is the area that it sounds like it's coming from. |

Get a cigar, take a massive puff, pull off a vacuum line and blow the smoke in it. See if/where it comes out. Might need to plug the exhaust with a rag. If you dont see anything you could still have a leak and just not be seeing the smoke, but worst case, you now have an excuse to smoke a cigar.

Are these the lines you are referring to? Because they appear to be connected.
Or are there more lines that can't be seen at all unless the compressor is taken off? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...405_220317.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...405_220346.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...405_220439.jpg |

The line isn't in any of those photos. It is a braid covered line that runs under the manifold. If you stand at the front of your car and face the TB it's on the right side, under the manifold running towards the driver side before ducking under. If you follow it with your hand the braid ends and you can find the line behind it. |

The EVAP solenoid is more towards the back of the intake manifold. The line connects to the intake manifold just behind the throttle on the drivers side. |
