Berk Technology Dual Exit Muffler Delete Questions
Hello everyone! I just wanted to hear different opinions on people's experience with the Berk Technology Dual Exit Muffler Delete. I am currently about to pull the trigger on this mainly because I want something cheap but also to make the car sound more alive. I was going more towards getting a full headerback system with the Perrin 2.5inch Catback mainly because of how people talk about no drone which I do need seeing how I daily drive my car.
My question for owners who had experience with the muffler delete how bad is the drone? I've heard that adding a resonator will eliminate the drone. If so what kind of resonator do you guys recommend? size of resonator? I honestly just want to be able to carry a conversation in the car during cruising speeds and listen to my music normally without turning it up all the way. Thanks! |
c'mon guys, use the search button... took me 8 seconds to find this extremely relevant and helpful thread that has answers to your questions, as well as is a better place to post your question:

I had the single exit and it was too much. I got it for the same reason, cheap and I needed to hear my car. I regretted it and sold after 3-4 months. The dual exit is supposed to drone a bit more even.
I came from a sti running an invidia n1 catback with a hfc downpipe and no resonaters what so ever that i loved, so my definition of loud is pretty high. I had to either blast the radio and it was hard to hear a conversation. A phone call was basically impossible without almost yelling. Maybe look at the nameless track pipe with the muffle built in? Ooo okay! Yea I've been thinking of just welding on a 14" or 18" magna flow resonator like others have been doing to get rid of the drone. What do you think? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Another option may be a custom exhaust? I am going that route as it is usually cheaper than production pieces ($300-400 for a catback). Edit: one thing I forgot to mention is the drone happens at lower rpms. Around 3000-3500 it tends to get better. I have an AT so at 75mph im only at 2300-2400 rpm. I know the MT is higher so it may not be as bad, around town would depend on your shift points and cruiseing rpm/speed. Sent from my LT30at using Tapatalk |

the srt 2.5" midpipe with custom muffler delete I'm selling didn't drone ;)

I love my Berk duel muffler delete I think it's the perfect sound in the low end. It does lack some sound in the higher RPM's. The only drone I get is from when I engine brake. It gets pretty loud in the cab. The tone is really low. I get asked if it had a v8 a lot. Idiots lol.

Awesome thanks for the review! Could you still comfortable listen to music and talk to people during highway cruising? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Absolutely, only when down shifting do you really run into problems with drone. Even then you can still talk easily over it.

If you use your car daily, I would use regular exhaust system with resonators.
