Forgot to put on the parking break at the grocery store. Luckily I had it in gear, and the lot was pretty flat. It did not roll away thankfully!

I do no recommend this.

My wife used to deliver pizza's in my Celica, she did this once picking up another order. The parking lot was slightly slanted, she didn't put it in gear or put on the ebrake and left it running. It rolled into a "pipe" fence about 15 feet away and popped a few clips on the bumper. Good thing the fence held as it was a 40 foot drop nearly straight down!

Edit: Here's a picture of a dude that wasn't as fortunate, same fence, but he missed it ;)

If you are referring to my posting, nothing, except it wouldn't work because the valet lock was on, which is a button in the trunk. You have to use the key to open the trunk except we couldn't find the lock, which is "hidden" in a vertical position under the lip on the back of the trunk. Very nice actually.

If you weren't referring to mine, well, now I get to repeat being stupid twice for nothing!

Thanks to the stories from you earlier delivery-takers, I made sure to sort out this situation as soon as I got the key while my salesman went off the grab paperwork. Didn't want to fumble around with this when I'd actually need to first put something in the trunk. Man, the verbiage used on the button (and manual) is a little confusing.

Do you get a lot of "cowboys" in Wyoming? Not hating, I just find it to be a bit of culture shock, bein' a city slicker n' all. My Dad lived out there for a while in the 70's/80's; it was the only time he owned and carried a gun.

Second day with our new car and I got my first speeding ticket (44 in a 30 zone). Missy took away my key and I am grounded. Mark

Yea I hate be grounded. The last time I was grounded I was a teenager, I am now 45. All I can say about it is, this car is quick, sixty on the freeway feels like your going forty.

M&M_Hwy9 05-29-2012 05:13 PM

Yea, Missy gave me back my key. I am happy to report that I am no longer grounded. That was one of the longest weekends ever for me.
