Borla UEL Header noise?

Hi Guys,

Today I installed the Borla UEL headers. Install was straight forward without any major issues. After installing, I am hearing this noise in the passenger cabin when I press the gas pedal at low rpm. Is this an exhaust leak where the header meets overpipe? It's the faint thin noise that's behind the rumble noise.

Any advice would be welcome, Thank you.

I would say that's rasp from the front pipe. Mine was terrible after the Borla install until I wrapped the front pipe.

What did you use to wrap the front pipe? Just exhaust wrap?

Wrap then thin sheets of aluminum wrapped around from Lowes held on with hose clamps. It's the only way to get the rasp down

My rasp came from my front pipe...though it is also catless, which can add to the noise. I wrapped my front pipe with header wrap, then cut and used thin sheets of aluminum from lowes and wrapped the header wrap. I basically made a double layer of insulation.

Please excuse the simple drawing..hope it gets the point across. I wrapped everything I could.

Wrapped your entire front pipe with the header wrap and foil?!
even the cat?

oh by the way, the setup is very simple.

Borla UEL
Invidia Q300 Catback
Stock overpipe, front pipe.

That's the exact noise that's been driving me insane! So heat wrap will do the trick??

I wrapped the whole front pipe but I do not have a cat. it's sheet aluminum not aluminum foil

Do you hear a ticking noise when on the throttle? If so, it is most likely a leak.

Dont forget that you changed the header to a much thinner stainless steal piping replacing the stock thick flanged cast manifold. You are going to hear more noise coming from the header itself.
