STS REAR TURBO KIT
I stumbled across this kit on youtube and thought that it was a win across the board.
No extra engine bay heat No boost lag Decent price ect. Im wondering if anyone has seen these kits on a car? Below is the youtube video link I saw [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fywtKeDXCRM"]STS Turbo 2013 Subaru BRZ - YouTube[/ame] |
Its been mentioned before. I don't know of anyone who has bought the kit. Its pretty pricey. "Pending CARB" so they say.

Boost kicks in about 2800-3000 depends plus I am on really low boost so when I turn it up I will be able to better answer this. I was hoping to do so today but I am waiting to hear from Bill....

How do you have no boost lag when the turbo is that far away from the engine?

have you owned other turbo cars prior to this one? how would you compare it? noticable difference with the rear mounted turbo? |

It is hard for me to say as I am on the base tune no revisions due to not being able to get a hold of Bill. I am also only on 4psi for the same reason i want to be safe... but I will say its quite fun. I do like the oil-less turbo setup. |

Consider the piping on a fmic, including the pressure drop cause by the fmic itself, all the bends, etc. then consider a pipe the length of the car (almost) and no IC. The heat would be my bug draw to this, everyone seems to be having big issues with heat/turbos on this car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Very interested in seeing how this set up performs after a tune. Thanks for the info |
I just had mine installed about two weeks ago. First FRS/BRZ to get one besides the prototype. I love it. Sounds like a jet engine and it can get up to 80 in a couple seconds. It can go up to 12 psi, but I have it set to 8 psi right now.
There is one problem. The engine stalls out occasionally when I'm going about 5 m.ph., I'm not giving it any gas, and it doesn't stall out at 5 psi. Currently the shop that installed it and STS are trying to figure out what's going on. |
