Speed Ventures at Willow Springs

Just got this email from Speed Ventures:

Quote:

Greetings Drivers,

We just wanted to drop you a quick note regarding our events this coming weekend at Willow Springs International:

STREETS - We are running STREETS of Willow this Saturday and Sunday. Attendance is still very light. We need instructors for both days, so if you're interested in driving for a discount and doing 1 or 2 sessions of instruction, let us know.

CAR CONTROL/SKIDPAD/DRIFT - We have the Balcony rented out on Sunday for open testing/practice. This is a great opportunity to learn how to control slides, drift, sustain power circles and figure 8's. The course will be open all day to participants. Some instruction/coaching is also available on a limited basis. The cost for this is $75 for the entire day. If you want to run STREETS and the Balcony, you can pop up to the Balcony whenever you're not running on track! There are currently only 6 people signed up, so don't miss out on this great opportunity to hone your skills.

We hope to see you this weekend.
Thanks,
Aaron Bitterman & the Speed Ventures crew

I'm thinkin' about driving down and wrecking my tires, especially for car control/drifting practice. And with less than 10 people registered, and only $75 entry fee, that's just a ridiculous value.

When is it

Just checked the site and they have 36 drivers listed for Saturday, and 51 drivers signed up for Sunday. Guess the email and the discount brought out some more drivers. Maybe I won't go.

The 6 driver number is for the Sunday only drift/skidpad. With the offer open however to allow drivers from the main Streets track event to head over to the drift/skidpad, that's going to end up very crowded with those 51 drivers expecting to come over and get bonus time.

If I could find someone with a pair of 17x7 (stock) wheels that I could throw my stock tires onto then I would be totally down for this. Anyone with upgraded wheels still have the stock ones lying around?

So is it wrong to think 1,100 miles on ODO and bone stock isn't too early to start attending these with my new frs?
