hybrid road rage?

anyone else ever notice that most pricks on the road tend to be in hybrids? currently in school in rochester and drivers here are kinda crazy. but the worst people are hybrid drivers. theyre the only ones that weave through traffic, cut people off, and have no consideration for others. one guy didnt even pull over to let an emergency vehicle by. everybody was getting outta the way and he took advantage of it instead of doing the legal thing (a lot of altima and camry hybrids). i was just curious if this was a local thing or if these self-important, image concious hybrid drivers are dangerous all over.

(disclaimer: im not against hybrids in any way, shape, or form. im against inconsiderate drivers. does it really take that much effort to use a turn signal ?)

Here in Minnesota I don't notice Prius drivers road raging, as much as inciting road rage in others with distracted driving, lack of road etiquette, and generally sub-par driving skills.

I think they attract people who aren't that into driving.

agreed, i was thinking along those lines. most of the drivers that are raging here seem to be middle age males though. i dont understand why theyd buy a hybrid to drive fast. its not like it's the new nsx or that porsche supercar (did see a fisker karma, but he was being considerate)

I love hybrids because they leave more gas for me to burn. :D

I've always found the Prius to be a great car for people who want as little to do with driving as possible. Most of these cars with automated everything seem to encourage people to be distracted behind the wheel.

that's one way to look at it :p

I currently drive a hybrid btw but it's a CR-Z so it's on the sporty side so I don't class it like a Prius. :)

i had a guy in a hybrid the other day try to block me in after he saw i was trying to get over.... no reason to do so at all, one of those people that are just cruising along obvious but as soon as you come up next to them its like they wake up an start to pace you.... but little did he know I had 16 psi of boost locked and loaded :) you cant block me in silly hybrid, 300hp says no soup for you!!!:party0030: Still wish i was in a frs/brz instead though  I HATE BODY ROLL!

Also @neutron256 that new hks sc kit for the crz is niceeeeeeee!

The CR-Z far from the perfect car and the milage isn't amazing but it's fun to drive, and looks great. I especially like the driving modes. I can choose if I want to be good, or have fun and waste gas.

That said now that I work from home and have no commute I can't wait to trade it in for the BRZ at the end of the month.

I've only ever had one Prius blow past me going 80+mph and there is no shortage of hybrids here.

It's just the bad drivers in your area...

It used to be the other way around. The drivers were timid. I have noticed some craziness in hybrid cars around.
