Need advice on ticket/suspension

My day just took a turn for the worse when I got home. Had a letter saying my license was suspended because I didn't pay a speeding ticket fine. I was expecting the bill, because I fought it and had the statement that I paid off for the ticket specialists. But never got it.

One things you guys gotta understand, this is devastating to me. Not even really the fact I can't drive until Monday. ( not an option, gunna have to be careful ). It's the fact that now my insurance is going to know about that ticket (29 over) which I was really hoping they didn't, And if I'm correct I think it'll also go up because my license was actually suspended. AND also I have to pay $150 just to get my license reinstated.

I scrape by so thin already I go hungry so I can pay my bills, but ALWAYS do find a way. That is one of the reasons I was able to finance by myself, being in debt since I was kicked out at 17. I was just trying to get by until my girl moves back in this summer and then I would be making money. Now because of a fucking clerical error I'm getting fucked from all ways.

Any options other than the obvious of going to pay it first thing Monday?

Why in the fuck are these fines not required to be signed upon delivery if they can cancel your license weeks later without anymore notice? I can't even prove I didn't get it. Now I'm out 100's, probably 1,000s over the years for insurance, I'm beyond pissed right now I'm tired of never doing anything trying to save money, just to be fucked out of what little I have because of a clerical error... FUCXXK

Rant over, fuck you Harper.

So the ticket fighters are to blame? Have you contacted them?

Gords_zenith 03-30-2014 01:31 AM

Maybe if you didn't speed you could've avoided all of this? Especially if your broke as you say you are....if ya want to play, your gonna have to pay....or something along those lines applies here.

But ya, I would check your bank statements for an amount that you paid for the ticket and then try looking for the receipt, as well contact your legal specialists like the guy above mentioned. And with all that you can prove that it was an error like you say it is....

At the risk of sounding like a pr*ck... if you're not exaggerating and your situation is as dire as you make it sound... the solution seems clear to me - sell the car and whatever other luxuries you may have.

If you've been broke for years and go hungry to pay bills, why on earth did you think you could afford a new car? Get rid of it and take the bus until your financial situation is better.

yea like i said once my girl moves back in a month ill be bringing money in, she decided to do a last minute semester of school so i had to take on all the expenses while she was gone, it was gunna be hella tight, but acheivable.

should of expected the answers of "dont speed" and "sell your car", i dont have enough interest right now to explain my whole situation, you guys have all been just trying to get past a rough patch at one point in your life, and you all speed wether you admit it or not.

Im not sure if it was my ticket dude that didnt send me the final fine after he got it reduced, or the government for not sending me it after it was reduced, im gunna talk to people on monday and see what can be done, by the looks of it though theres nothing that is going to help me.

lesson learned.

How many tickets do u have if I might ask ? Most insurance companys have a 1 or 2 ticket grace , which will not effect ur insurance rates much it all depends on how they see u.

Also ur right everyone goes thru a tough patch in life but personal things I would keep to myself or close friends and family's posting on these fourms will not help and will leave you open to opions you might not want to hear .

Good luck with you ticket , and I wish u all the best ... Hope everything works out for u .

Cheers

Ocho

Could be worse i suppose… I'm not even in possession of my car at the moment because of speeding...

Burrcold 03-31-2014 01:57 AM

So it's essentially your girlfriend's fault...oh and the "ticket dude"...and the government...and Harper. Just want to understand fully that it's their fault you were doing 29 over. Cool.

At least it wasn't 30, don't they crush your car? Consider yourself lucky, although a suspended license isn't that lucky. I wouldn't sell my car but I'd be driving slow as fuk for the next couple years.

Good luck OP

In Canada its 50km/h (30 mph) over when they impound your car (no crushing here)

robwbright 03-31-2014 10:49 AM

Where in the world do they crush your car for speeding at any amount over the limit?? I've never even heard of that.

Actually it seems to vary province to province.

When I was young and stupid I got caught doing 173km/h in a 70km/h zone when I was late for a final exam, and I managed to walk away with my car, no speeding ticket and only two tickets for lack of insurance and registration cards in my car due to taking them out when I was calling insurance from someone hitting my car.

That was a good lesson and a real eye opener that told me to smarten up.

Not sure how long ago young was for you but those rules have just come into effect in the last 5 years give or take a couple years.

Before than there were no rules like that at all.
