There was a track in Stoufville that i went to jsut for fun, but their carts were damn slow, no need for brakes! wtf is that.

then there is a series at mosport and innisfill, but hteyr'e a bit further out.

anyone do any of these?

I've been a regular at Mosport for the pass few years. I love the track. I have done the series out at Hamilton and raced at Goodwood and will take Mosport hands down. It's worth the 60 min drive for me.

Thanks to @FLYFISHR I signed up for the Stoughville Goodwoods Kartways summer racing season. Your looking at about $750 for 10 races, membership, baklava, neck brace, security deposit.

I don't know if you used the real karts (did you go with Touge?) or did you use the usual karts but I found there go karts fast enough. Of course I have loose weight but my weight to power ratio is way down. Luckily they class by weight lol.

when i went to Goodwoods they put us in those cars with lots of red plastic covering/bumper support

they were slow as fuck, i didn't brake for a single turn, throttle off was more than enough to navigate the hairpin at the end of the longest straight, was very disappointed.

These are the racing ones. http://www.goodwoodkartways.com/images/crkc4.jpg

Well I know I'm not a track beast like you so maybe that's why I braked on corners :s but I do believe you go off track if you don't.

Both Goodwood and Mosport are within half an hour from home, so I could definitely be convinced to come out!

The Goodwood site states that you have to be members to use the "high performance" karts, so maybe they have slow ones and fast ones?

If you get good at it you don't use the brakes to slow down that much but more of a means to rotate the kart to help prevent you scrubbing off to much speed. It a momentum thing that allows you to be even fast at the end of the straight a ways. Hamza do you think you might be free to do a practice session out at Mosport on a week day towards the end of the month?

Sure Jim @FLYFISHER I'd love to.
