Great service from Raceseng

About 2 weeks ago I noticed that my stock shift know was coming apart (the plastic center cap was coming off) so I decided to place an order for the only shift knob I had been coveting for a while, the Raceseng Slammer. I placed the order Thursday night and received a notification that it had shipped the next morning via the USPS with an ETA of Monday. I had my tracking number and was checking it all weekend for updates on where it was at. Unfortunately, USPS has the worst tracking system ever and I often don't see updates up until it's actually delivered so I held out hope that it had actually left Pennsylvania and was headed in my direction. It hadn't and wouldn't leave for a couple more days.

It finally made it to NC on Thursday and was set to be delivered on Friday. It wasn't. On Saturday I finally got the box and immediately knew something was wrong the moment I picked the box up. It was waaay too light and I noticed a stamp on the side of the box that read "REPAIRED AT THE GREENSBORO NDC". Well shit. I opened up the box and confirmed that indeed the only thing left in the box was the threaded adapter for the shift knob. I called Raceseng and left a message figuring it probably wouldn't be heard until Monday.

After being pissed off the whole weekend, Monday rolled around and I called Raceseng fairly early to try and talk to someone and ended up speaking to Ryan (always a good name ) in the shipping department and he was super helpful and said a replacement would be shipped out that day via UPS and he had a tracking number in my inbox within an hour or two.

Last night that beautiful piece of stainless steel was delivered to my doorstep and was on my car in about 30 minutes thanks to some blue loctite and gawd is it sexy. I'm honestly very surprised at how much smoother shifts are now.

USPS sucks but Raceseng's support was awesome and quick. Highly recommended.

Hey that's great. I worked as a sorter for ups when I was in college. The way the boxes come in and get on the belt sometimes a big heavy box collapses the original box and stuff goes everywhere.

Glad they were able to get you a replacement so fast.

Out of curiosity, why'd you decide to install the shift knob with Loctite?

arharris2 03-31-2014 09:37 AM

Loctite is part of their instructions but I ended up using it a bit more than they said. I could never get the adjustment screw inside the knob stop it from being screwed down all the way. I ended up putting loctite on both the inside threads (per their instructions) and the outside threads of the threaded adapter, screwing the knob onto the adapter and adjusting for alignment and then letting it cure there. Within about 10-20 minutes it was perfectly tight and it's blue loctite so I can always take it off if I ever need to.
