can you please post a picture of the item? im interested :)

do i need to make any adjustment on the bracket to make it fit? or is it made specific to our cars?

digital_assassin 03-25-2014 05:47 PM

The tie down is universal. If you want a more specific fit you can pick up the FR-S/BRZ specific tray from ft86speedfactory.com for $89

Tire rack sells this setup for $181. Amazon sells this setup for $193.

Does your universal tie down secure the battery in place well? I need something that holds it in place at the track.

I certainly don't want to buy the specific tray for $89 on top of your battery. Just not sure if your universal one works good enough.

Can you please post some pictures of this when you get a chance?

Thank you!

By the way, love your build topic man. :)

I actually just bought this off another local guy and haven't put it in my car yet. He installed it and tracked his car at the same 2 events I did last year and there were zero issues. The picture below is of it mounted in his car. I would add a couple zip ties to secure the universal tie down to the stock tie down just because but he did 3 track days and a few autocross events and it was fine just like shown in the picture. He removed it from his car in the fall and it's been on a battery tender until I picked it up. I then have had it on a battery tender for the last 2 weeks since I got it.

If you are concerned about the cosmetics you can purchase a 86 / Braille specific tray and ft86speedfactory.com has one for $89 and Ptuning.com has a REALLY nice one for $169.

The reason I'm selling it is because I decided to go with the even lighter, but waaayyy more expensive, Shorai package from KCMachine. My Ground Control anodizing is gunmetal and I was looking at the Shorai before I bought the Braille. Once KCMachine offered a gunmetal tray it was over :). Over 4X the price but I'm a sucker for matching parts.

I'll take it. :)

I'm certainly not looking for any "bling".

Shoot. Let me actually contact the vendors for the specific tie down.

My track friend said I would probably need to purchase the tie down if I do go with this battery.

Sorry about that!
