Sti turbo

Has anyone tried putting an sti turbo on the FA20 engine? Is it even possible? Just playing around with some thoughts

Sti turbo

Nvm * not productive*

As long as you can build the manifold yes. Crawfords setup used a JDM Subaru branded turbo.

Oh i see thank you.

I was very close to building my manifold to accept these.

Most of the IHI turbos aren't that great but there some good bolt on Subaru turbos like the Blouch ones and they are easy to find used in good condition. Certainly possible to put one on the FA20 just requires the right manifold.

I agree the factory turbos are nothing to write home about in terms of performance but I sold my VF48 for like $400 when I upgraded that it was in perfect shape.

crawford performance uses a twin scroll turbo off a jdm sti (vf36 turbo) that would definetly prove otherwise. 500 wtq just saying... i believe thats on pump gas even. engine is built.

also this probably should have been posted in the forced induction section lol

That wasn't on pump gas and that isn't at the wheels. The VF36/VF37 is a decent turbo but let's not get carried away.

their pump numbers are astounding and their torque figures are very brag worthy - no reason to discount the fact that their engine is built very well (just too expensive for almost everyone)
