DatApex | GrippyType Race Build

So, I'm sure a lot of you saw the photos floating around when I wrecked last year:

EDIT: Here's the video how it happened as well, in case y'all interested:

Well, almost a year and $15k+ later I'm finally starting to get near the end of a painful journey. When I wrecked, I decided I was going as far as I can to track mule and still stay street legal, cause c'mon, who doesn't love driving a racecar around down?

Here's the car as it sat last week before going in for paint (keeping the CF unpainted cause it looks badass):

And here's an album with the photos I have of the progress to this point. Car is painted, roll bar is going in today, and final adjustments to the new door tomorrow. Should have it back by end of this week (week of 03/23/2014), with more pictures to follow.

I'm still looking for a replacement front bumper cover, and a few other miscellaneous parts, but when I get it back it should be drivable. Also, if anyone has a Nameless 3" they'd want to work out a trade for the 2.5" please let me know. More pics when I get it back and start the cleanup of the interior.

glad to see you making a comeback man, i know the feeling but live and learn.

how much clearance did you gain from those front fenders btw?

what happened? greasy tires or you touched that grass and the car lost traction on the one side?

Ouch. Pics of that rear quarter area now?

Not sure on clearance yet, car is still at the body shop. The coils are going on at the same time as the fenders, so it'll be interesting to see how it comes out.

I'll check privacy settings on the G+ album when I get a sec to, in the meantime, here's the pic before I dropped it off to the second body shop:

Checked all settings on the album, it's definitely public. Dunno why you can't view. Oh well!

Crappy quality photos from the body shop. Still on track to have it back on Friday. Hard to tell from the pics, but looks like they messed with the suspension setup when they put it on, which makes me sad cause it was dialed in pretty nicely from the car it was taken off of.

I actually had them on my car before the crash, and I liked them a lot. Stiffened up the spongey stock brake feel pretty good, and the quality for the cost is excellent. Mine were an early prototype, so they had an issue where the rubber bushing on the bracket kept slipping out, but this has since been fixed.

They're also one of few stainless kits out there that has the 90° kink.

Wasn't able to find a ride over the shop last Friday, but the car is done and waiting for pickup. Secured a friend for this weekend. More pics soon!
