H&R Street coilovers vs Bilstein b14
 

Im looking for a coilover system that will not brake my back, my car is DD and winter driven.
I was about to order bilstien coilovers b14. But then came across h&r street on perrin perormance web site.

Both springs are progressive. Which is what i want. But has anyone tried h&r?
I would really love some feed back. Didnt find much info on these.

Which should i get?

if you want something to deal with Montreal roads, I'd def not lower the car..


Koni/Bilstein dampers and keep the oem springs.

hes probably using "break his back", as stiff and uncomfortable.

From what I have heard the B14 are pretty darn comfortable.

Yes by back breaking i do mean stiff spring/uncomfortable.

I know montreal roads gotta be amoung the worst in north america. But i cant not lower the car. Aesthetically I got to get rid of that wheel gap. I just don't want to lose right quality.
Bilsteins coilovers seem good for what I need, but h&r seem similar in specs and reputation.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with 7th gear, maybe a Koni damper, RCE yellow set up. It won't lower your car drastically, but it will help get rid of wheel gap.

Ran h&r for a while, the oe dampers not up to task, but you can get by without fine

In this thread it seems he's referring to the h&r coilovers.

In any case, I'd go bilstein all the way. I trust their dampers much more than h&r.

thnx for your inputs, and yes i was refering to h&r coilover system.. i just havent seen much on them,
found them on perrin performance site. but not much info on them..

i think ill stick to Bilstiens b14. with progressive spring and minimal 20mm drop at it highest point, equivalent drop to RCE yellows with the possibility to go a little lower if i want. plus price wise they comes out less expensive than say, RCE yellows with a set of Bilstein shocks.

Bilstein products in general are well made and are generally tuned very well for real road conditions. May not be my first choice on track, but they know how to do dampers for road cars. There's a reason so many race teams run custom valves Bilstein monotube dampers. They work and work well.

But...to be completely honest bilstein's 2 year warranty kinda sucks, not gunna lie.

One the same note, anyone have thoughts of the B14 vs ST coilovers?

I think both are good/comparable and you'd be happy either way you go. Between the two, Bilstein is slightly more expensive but apart from that it comes down to personal preference.

I ended up ordering B14s. Must say they really look like a solid quality product. Cant wait to try these out. Gonna be installing the mid April!
