Im looking to change my fog lights on brz limited. I have a yellow vinyl overlay on my fog light and i want a more yellowish light. Which bulb should i get?

Why not run a 3000k HID. I used to run them in my cobra. LOVED them

the fog lamps in these cars are primarily for decoration. The optics in the fog light housings cannot properly focus, aim, or otherwise handle the light output of HIDs.

Been running HID's in my car's fogs for YEARS! Never had an issue. Two 03 cobras, an E46 M and now my FRS. Showing me worse case scenario means nothing to me. Especially on a dozen cars out of THOUSANDS who run this set up with ZERO ISSUES. Sorry, man. I have yet to be flashed for my lights being too bright and have never seen a fire yet on anyone of the fog lights or those I've encountered (which have been a lot of forum members from svtperformance, m3forum.net, and ft86club). It's like the HID cops on here telling me I need to retrofit my lights. Never been an issue for ANYONE I've known on any car forum I've been apart of (8 forums) Gonna stick with my original statement. OP, why not run 3000k HID's? :thumbsup:

I'd love to see details of the special fogs that somehow defy the laws of physics, but whatever. You can't fix stupid. :iono:

i like piaa ion bulbs because i dont run with my fog lights on unless i need them to be on. HIDs take time to warm up and flashing them on/off is bad. i also dont like the yellow tint look in the day time so im saving up for a set of these bulbs soon

Try a 35w ballast, genius. I've been running 3k yellow fogs in my STS-V, M6, Avalanche, and Cobra for years.

Since foglights are primarily cosmetic, the only concern for beam projection quality, like any lamp, should be avoiding glare towards other drivers by ensuring the fogs are angled downwards. (Driveability concerns due to added foreground light notwithstanding). This is pretty easy in most cases with any type of light source, due to the position of the light and the simplistic optics of fog lights. These guys are not trying to replace their headlights. They are not trying to create a perfect standards-based lighting setup to provide the best scientific arrangement of lighting for a specific weather condition. This is aftermarket cosmetic improvement, not functional OEM vehicle design- it is accessory lighting, not headlights.

Any BRZ owner who is interested in increasing light output should first and foremost get the H11 foglight conversion, which is designed to handle a higher-power light source, and runs absolutely no risk of melting from any type of bulb.

Same here I have a 2003 Tiburon and Iv'e had HID fogs for at least 8 years not a single problem. Plus the golden yellow that the HIDs give is straight sexy.
