picking Up My Car Next Week - What to Look for?

So excited, picking up my 86 next week! Never bought a brand new car before, but usually what do we check before we sign the car off apart from the usual paint works?
Any tips? Thanks.

Sticker residue.
2x rear quarter panel
Top of the roof
Near the hood on both sides.

Make sure the wheel lock key is in your trunk!

Make sure rubber plugs for side sills are installed ( http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14993 )

Pop the trunk and lift the carpeted area. It should be mixed in with the jack and such. I'd take a picture and post it but I'm at the office right now.

Didn't know about wheel lock - we got jacks too?

Don't let them wash your car. Take it to a professional detailer. If you can afford it, get Opti-Coat applied to your car.

This thread also applies to me as I'll be potentially picking up my FR-S this week also..

What I don't see listed thus far and things I'll be checking for also are:

-ensure there is a spare tire in the trunk along with the tools to change the spare
-check that there is a tow hook with the vehicle (Im not sure if this comes standard so correct me if Im wrong on this)
-go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb for any dents/scratches

I also saw this posted somewhere in that you should make sure the dealer has filled the tank with premium gasoline and if not, you can perhaps drive the car to a gas station and fill it up and have the dealer pay for it

Mine came with one tow hook.

CONGRATULATIONS!

You may wish to:

* check the tires pressure
* check the oil level in the crankcase
* owners manual
* spare key(s)
* notify your insurance agent
* review break in procedures
* keep your distance from parking stops
* drive safely

Check the engine oil level, for sure. You may or may not have "crickets". The engine itself is also a noisy bugger when new. It will also smell like burned oil for a month or so. Opinions vary, but it's probably a good idea to follow the manual for break-in.
