Over pipe installation??

Ok so I've got my over pipe and have gone to install it, but cannot remove the factory one. Is there any tips or hints to remove the factory component without raising the engine? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

remove the heat shielding

The easiest way is to just jack the engine up a bit and it will slide out. You will need to undo the motor mount closest to the OP though.

Woops. Good call. :P Sorry, just glanced and figured it was another one of "those" threads. haha Apologies to all parties involved. :x

As mentioned before, the only other way really is to remove the heat shielding, but this is even more of a pita than just raising the engine.

Looks like I'll have to bring it to a shop around here I was looking at getting a tune from anyways, thanks all!

I dropped the front pipe and pulled it out that way.

Are those motor mounts at that point easy to remove?
Slapping on my new headers/OP/FP soon, figured it be a good time to try out those perrrin/cosco motor mounts.
