can you run no engine covers?

The dealer forgot to reinstall the engine cover while replacing the fuel pump. im gone for 2 days out of town. Do you think its safe to run?

The driver side? Should be just fine, its just a cover. I think one of its main purposes is to reduce noise.

Oh the center one? I haven't had one on my engine for 90% of its life. You are just fine to go without that. That one is purely cosmetic. :)

I thought you meant the fuel injector cover that goes over the DI pump.

Are you talking about the little black piece that clips on the top with the Subaru and Toyota logos on it? I'm running without it now because I suspect it rattles. It does literally nothing. Except make noise. Allegedly.

Why don't you point to it using a picture editor, it'll be easier to understand what you're trying to ask..

I'm guessing you're talking about the piece that the Subaru/Toyota/Boxer badging is attached to below:

If so, it's the intake manifold and you can't remove it.

What happened to 20 minutes? We're all continuing speculation without you!

If its just the plastic stuff on the engine, you can take it off and run it fine. I've had all my engine plastics off for 10k miles or so
