Off The Grid Adventure

So this morning I went for a little drive. No GPS and stereo turned off. Just me and my car. Decided I'd take some back roads I've never gone down before.

This route: http://goo.gl/maps/KMoG0

Turns out it really wasn't that far of a drive. But the road got more and more remote. Didn't wanna end out in the hills that have eyes. lol. Perhaps I'll find time to drive more new roads.

Looks fun, there's some really awesome roads out there. I know there was one in that area that I used to take with my buddy years ago that ended in a park, so there wasn't ever any traffic. I wouldn't be able to find it without him though!

Been out that way a few times with some friends at night. Pretty awesome. No eyes, no worries.

"Baby elephants are tied to a heavy duty anchor with a strong chain for weeks or months until their spirit is broken and they no longer even try to move freely. Later you see adult elephants anchored to anything flimsy with just a thin rope that they could easily break but they don't even try because in their mind it is impossible to be free. The same thing is happening with your mind with these repeated stories about your freedom being drawn into a tighter and tighter circle. Please don't let them break you." -Michael_D

That's a nice drive. I always take Troutdale road home.... Such a fun way home! I can show you some fun local boonie roads sometime.

Try Larch Mt. Road sometime. Turns off just before Vista House.
Bit of a hike at the end of the road to a big viewpoint at the top of the hill.

Yeah, ends in a park, so that may be it.

I just moved to the area from Seattle not to long ago and I love the old highware to Multnomah Falls. Granted I usually end up behind a slow car which makes it not as fun. But very curvy, rally friendly roads to play on. :) I'll have to check this route out next time in the area.

the route i just took wasn't too awesome. just a short bit where it was fun, then mostly outwards into a small town with forested properties. try larch mountain road all the way up to the park. that's the prime road out there.
