My can't-see-shit % tint makes everything black. :D

I have a Rydeen Duo. I'm pretty sure I got it off of eBay for $120ish. If you're connecting it to the factory HU then you'll need a wiring harness that costs about $25. There a guy who sells them and has a website:

I got it installed at Best Buy for $70ish. They were extremely fast and the install was very clean.
Total for everything purchased and installed was about $200ish. Not that bad for a great upgrade!

That was probably me, and you may be right--maybe it is only the knock-off ones. I have seen clear side marker condensation myself in a parking lot BRZ, but did not ask the driver if those were Helix or OEM.

Oh, you can get this installed at Best Buy?? Wow I didn't know that.

I'll look into the parts and get them installed!

Thanks for the info man. Appreciate it.

I really like this thread. One thing I would highly recommend if you plan to do any work under-the-hood is GrimmSpeed Hood Struts - $114.39 @ FT86SpeedFactory.com. Gives you a lot more lift on your hood than the OEM prop and look awesome.

For those who don't like the BRZ silver dash trim, just get a couple cans of plastidip.
It is cheap enough that you can change it up, and it isn't permanent, so you can remove it if you wish.
Takes some practice though (I haven't got it down yet).

  • Reverse Camera
  • Tint
  • Shift knob (optional)
  • Clutch engagement (optional; free)
  • Wider Accel. Pedal for heel toe (optional)
  • Sound generator delete (basically free)

I work at a Best Buy in Texas and receive a 50% discount on the parts and intsallation fees. They put in my amp, subwoofer, and dynamat. Geek Squad does very clean installs.

Getting Best Buy to do the backup camera installation never occurred to me, and I've been waiting 5 weeks for the harness guy SVXdc to reply to my last email. (ironically, he's less than 10 miles away from me here in Atlanta, but unresponsive). I've pulled out the head unit myself to test the camera, but haven't yet fully run the wires or drilled the mounting hole.

Do you just give them them the camera and they do all that stuff? Or do you also provide them downloaded instructions? Do they modify the OEM harness, or use their own installation pieces as necessary?

They are a company that specializes in those types of installs with a reputation at stake?

The way you hop with both feet into Internet group think is kind of adorable.

Most of us... The landscape for automotive electronics has changed alot in the last 10 years. Blanket statements are pretty certainly wrong. And it's wierd the way people like to be so sure of things

Chill bro, I've had terrible experience with dealership in the past, I'm sorry but a very few of them take pride in their work and actually care for customers care, hence why I started doing as much DIY as I can.. This thread wasn't meant as a ''where do you install your stuff'' or dealership rant, but more to help newcomers in the Twins world, that, like me, are looking for some personallizing mods while staying on a budget. Cheers and keep the suggestions coming !

I've contacted QwikValve after lots of interest from members regarding the Fumoto valve.. any ideas how a member can setup a groupbuy for other members ? They told me we get 10% off if we get 25 interested and I'm sure that easy to get !
