Bought mine from a local Subaru dealer.

However, I find that the dealer always wants to charge retail price. If I go to parts.subaru.com and navigate to my local dealers, I can find the best online price for the part/accessory, then have it delivered free to the dealer.

Where can I find the rubber trunk liner?

Pretty sure that Scion makes one.

Protip: Look on ebay/amazon to see if there are any local dealerships that sell them and then call to see if they'll price match it. Often, the price on ebay/amazon is cheaper than their official parts site.

Thanks for all the positive feedback, updating OP tonight with prices and links for: Trunk liner, heavier shift knob, crank pulley, tires, weathertechs and a couple of keychains (bought the OEM STI Carbon myself ;))

Oops, didn't notice that guys asking about the trunk liner was a Scion owner (probably wouldn't want the one I got with the big "Subaru" on it).

Interesting if the dealer's will price match ebay/Amazon. You'd think they would, but in my experience with Subaru dealers, they wouldn't even match their own online prices or other local dealer's prices--they forced me to order online for pick up.

I find it particularly hilarious because on my previous car the stock sidemarkers were clear, and everyone (including me) swapped to the amber sidemarkers. I guess we always want what we don't get?

Must haves for me (and trying to keep them pretty cheap):
- Heavier shift knob
- Shifter bushing
-Subaru camber bolts
- Weathertech mats (if you live anywhere with a real winter)

I've certainly done much more to my car but those would be my bare essentials for someone who doesn't want to spend much. Whatever you do, just get this thing onto a track or to an autox. You just can't truly appreciate it until you get to push it to (and over sometimes) the limit in a safe environment.

They are probably not legal. Even though one of these side markers is not really going to blind anybody, the whole idea behind red and amber lenses is that white light impairs night vision, while light shifted toward red does not (or at least not as much). Anything that can be seen by a driver behind you is generally supposed to be red or amber. Even when it's not bright enough to impair your night vision, a point of white light in your field of vision adds to visual clutter more than an amber light.

Even if state law allows them, keep 'em amber as a courtesy to other drivers.

For what it's worth, I lived in Atlanta for 13 years and had clear markers on all my cars. Never got shit for it. Course I also had those chrome bulbs that flash amber so people would know what was up.

I'm not going to lie, I was suprised that the parts guy said it was kosher too. Compared to everyone else, the part I wanted was still cheaper than everyone else shipped and the guy didn't even tack that on! It was a VW dealership, but I went to a Subaru one and they were cool with it too. There are like 7 Subaru dealers in a 20 mile radius though.

Gonna throw in an alternative to the sharkfin antenna: the Perrin 2" shorty. The stock antenna just makes the car look too much like an oversized RC car in my opinion

I put the 2" on mine, and it definitely helps the look. However, I'm probably going to switch to the sharkfin soon, since they finally have the new design in DGM.

I ordered mine with the OEM trunk liner, but not for carpet protection. I got it because when you put something on that rubber, it stays put. I've been amazed at how I can sling the car around and not have my toolbox slide all over the car. It's a must-have just for that.

One can always get amber bulbs to keep the emitted light amber. You can make almost any light assembly legal with the correct bulbs.

I don't know about the 2" shorty. Kinda looks too out of proportion to me for the big antenna base.

OP updated, keep the suggestions coming, remember the point is cheap/basic mods. Although I know many need gauges and stuff for specific applications, here is just a get together of mods many members use. Its not meant as an obligation nor a you have to buy that to be cool type of thing. I love OEM side markers, but many love JDM parts. Cheers
