I wonder if it's a Canadian thing? I'll check my car after work to see if I've lost my mind or not.

Any other Canadian's in here? If so, do you have any lining under your hood?

I'll check tonight, I know I have the most forward portion of that pad.

Burrcold 03-18-2014 07:51 PM

I just checked, and I have the normal half liner.

Slysdexia 03-20-2014 07:38 PM

Anyone know the part number?

wparsons 03-20-2014 09:07 PM

Yeah, I'm losing my marbles... definitely have the half liner. I guess I never noticed it before because it blends right into the underside of the hood (asphalt car).

It was just something I noticed in a youtube video.

Here's the one I did for my Seibon OEM style carbon fiber hood. I first made templates out of brown packing paper for the 12 open areas underneath (can't see in any pictures) for the Dynamat Xtreme. This was to help with the structural integrity some, and heat/noise prevention.

I then made a template for the main shell of the hood (you can see when you look at it it's right at the part that dips). Traced this out, cut it out, and laid it on as such as the Hoodliner is self adhesive. It turned out awesome and adds way more than the flimsy stock one ever could do. You could easily run the Hoodliner larger as it comes in a 54" x 32" sheet (or something like that) but I feel it would look silly being any bigger and wouldn't match any of the lines.

That liner looks reflective, which would send heat back to engine components. Not sure of the magnitude of detrimental effects, but I'd rather prefer something that absorbs heat like the stock liner. Still, looks like good quality work and I'm sure it's not resulting in any big loss of power :D

I removed mine.

My UK spec GT86 has the full liner that you are after. I will ask my friendly local dealer to get me the part number, and will post it up for you when I get it.
