Underhood liner/pad

The FR-S comes with a fairly short underhood liner.

Seen here on mine:

But I recently saw this in a youtube video on a GT86 somewhere in Europe:

My question is does anyone know the part number for the longer hood liner?

I'd buy that

I took mine off, out of curiosity why do you want or feel like you need it?

Soda can sheet metal?

I believe the purpose of these liners are to absorb engine noise... Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Not sure if we actually need the extended version, but maybe it'll help shut the crickets up (or the injectors clicky-clackies)? Lol

Keeps heat from paint

Out of curiosity, why did you remove yours? :-)

I want it for a slightly quieter engine (at least at idle, from the outside) and to protect the hood paint from heat damage over time.

They're to absorb noise and prevent the hood from getting as hot which can damage the paint over time.

Noise is my reasoning
Slysdexia, is that a Pratt?

AdamBomb518 03-18-2014 10:52 AM

In gonna just use the Hoodliner on top of dynamat xtreme once my Seibon hood comes in. I'd go that route honestly if I were you. Can cut it to size the entire hood.

I'm assuming you mean my profile pic. It's the back end of a russian airboat that showed up at a local car meet.

Here's video I got of it getting fired up: http://youtu.be/xfnDABTVJUk

EvilBeaverFace 03-18-2014 01:28 PM

Oh have you tried taking out the engine noise tube?

wparsons 03-18-2014 02:42 PM

I could be losing my mind, but I'm 99% sure my car didn't come with any lining on the hood at all. I'll check tonight.
