How often do you upgrade your phone?
 

As part of the employment perk, we get the new flagship phone each year.

When my current phone stops working :lol:

Currently rocking a GS4.

I keep my phone till my contract is done. And I'm a cheap mofo rockin a free galaxy s2x. Before that I had a blackberry bold 9700...a reliable POS.

2 cell ago I had a motorola RAZR..the 1st gen :O

LOL I'm still rocking an LG envy. I just ask for hand me down phones from my family if mine stops working. I'm really not into phones, I'd rather use my PC. I try to stay out of the electronics rabbit hole. I know people that have to have the latest gadgets and they have big phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, big tv, etc etc it's expensive when you "upgrade" every year or two, especially when those items depreciate worse than cars.

Whenever my contract offers an upgrade, so one every year 1/2 to 2 years

Every other November when I get my full upgrade. I skip all the "S" models and get the initial models like 4,5 etc...

Only when mine doesn't work well anymore or when it breaks. Sell me a nice phone *cough*

Whenever it dies/I lose it/stolen/I destroyed it. I used a iPhone 3G for nearly 3 years. A 3GS for 2 months. A Xperia Ion for 8 months. Reason they're gone...3G I lost, 3GS was stolen and the Xperia Ion was caught between a car door. Now I got a Nexus 4, technically I still have the Ion as it works...but its the touch screen is useless meaning apart from data its useless.

every other new iPhone when the contract is up, old one usually resells on cl for the cost of the new

When the battery starts to go.

when there is a screaming deal as i dont upgrade my contract in order to keep the unlimited data

whenever the old one breaks, i change carriers, or the battery life takes a dive..

lately, that's been every 6 months.. went through 2 iphone 3g's that couldn't make it through the day in mostly standby with about 3 minutes of use, then changed plans-got a new phone, changed carriers-got a new phone.. yep, that sums up my last 2 years of phones.. it's been a crazy ride. i hope this phone lasts me at least another couple months...

When old one breaks/eligible for upgrade.

I still have an iPhone 4. I was gonna get a 5 but I deployed 2 months ago and I decided to wait and see what's out when I come back. Good thing cause the iPhone 6 should be out around then :)

Not often, normally. My current phone is an Ace 2 but I've got a Moto G on the way via ebay. $130 for the Moto G off contract is the most I've ever paid for a phone. Before the Ace 2 I had an old POS flip phone. I also use pay as you go instead of a contract. It costs me 12-13 dollars per month.
