Bride, for no reason other than emotional. Rationally, would not buy either of them.

I had the Gias in my old car, theyre great seats NOT light because of the brackets and such but they hold you pretty well...they were lighter then my stock seat but not by much. But held better then any other bucket Ive sat in.

tahdizzle 03-14-2014 06:46 PM

Is there something wrong with the stock seats?

My vote is the BRZ tX recaro seats w/ the bolster air bags.

leicaboss 03-14-2014 07:02 PM

Honestly, I spent a lot of time thinking and planning to go aftermarket with my seats - but after an unexpected accident with my FR-S, I realized the tremendous value in having airbags. Unless your car is designated for the track and you've got a full cage, harnesses, etc, I really wouldn't mess with the seats.

Accidents are not always caused by us, even the best drivers have been struck by idiot drunks, speeding teens, or even someone falling asleep at the wheel. You don't want insurance giving you a reason not to help you out when God forbid you need it the most. Just my 2 cents.

However, I'm not going to lie, Bride's look great.

Not at all. The stock seats are amazing. At some point however I will change them. Just curious to see which ones people would prefer out of the two. I hear great things about both brands.

Are you looking for something more "racecar feel" (not even joking here) or comfort? I know the GIAS is a good choice if you want reclinable, but frankly, in my BRZ I almost never touch my seat settings, and I sit with a very "proper" driving position.

Because of this, if I were to change my seats out, I'd probably go with a fixed back bucket. If I'm going to lose airbags, I might as well cut out weight and unnecessary features. A great one is the Pole Position (IMO) by Recaro.

Honestly, I'm just looking to waste money on things that I don't need but want. I never Change my seat setting either, however I like knowing that if for some reason I need too, I can.

For the time being, this would be for cosmetics.

I hear you man - the GIAS just look badass - esp the ones with the Venus paintjob, ugh. I vote those... or the CF backed Cusco branded Brides!

LuxuryVapes 03-14-2014 11:38 PM

You should check out status racing

The Cisco brides are beautiful! I'd like to see the Gias with Venus paint job, I'll have to look those up.

I agree!

I love the seats that are in my BRZ but if I were to swap them out with something, I would go with Bride Cusco Zeta IIIs. Just wish it said BRIDE instead of CUSCO on the headrest. :slap:

To me the weight is the main reason I got them, they are very light at 4.5 KG which I think its incredible for a non carbon, they are actually lighter than some of the carbon fiber seats, at the same time they are very comfortable for a bucket seat, I never felt tired of driving in them daily, you can see the seats measurements and check if they are around your body size.

With Recaro or Bride you can't go wrong with their quality, you will be right on the money with any type of seat you choose.

yomny 03-15-2014 11:29 AM

Takata, based on the pics posted.

They seem to be very popular which I'm assuming would be because they are both quality parts. I've read nothing but good things about them, just never sat in, or drove around with them. I'm not too sure body size would be a problem, I'm skinny lol. 5'9/9.5 about a buck 45ish lmao.

my friend has them too in his 86, he is about 6.0/175, and he is happy, never once complained.

Full alcantara is available if you like to spend more of that $$

deucethemoose 03-15-2014 12:28 PM

The Takata seat is rip-off/rebranded Cobra Misano Anniversary seat.

http://www.cobraseats.com/Misano

I has Sparco Roadsters in my MR2. I loved them, but the stock seats went back in because my back would fatigue on a long drive.

TylerLieberman 03-15-2014 02:01 PM

I'd buy a charger for your phone :)

TylerLieberman 03-15-2014 02:04 PM

In all seriousness, I would go with Bride seats. I don't like the fabric design on the Takata's at all. As far as bride goes, They've become extremely JDM-fan boyish over the past couple years. So many replicas out there that people seem to automatically assume your real ones are fake.

I've grown to like the look more of the classic Recaro Buckets. Status is also a very good option.

Sat in Cusco Bride Zeta in Cusco FR-S & they're amazing! Feels nice and comfortable racing in the autocross.

executivekoala 03-15-2014 03:50 PM

I sat in the takata seats at fd and I really like them and quality was great but I cant compare to a bride because I have only seen and sat in reps.
