Forum is Dying

How does this make you feel?

if Toyota doesn't give some serious news by the end of this year I am going to be looking at a Genesis coupe probably...

How about you?

I would look into weight reduction while you're at it. Those rear seats will be the first to go, no doubt.

I'll hold out for a little bit longer, but definitely look into losing weight on that colossus if you're looking at getting one. Maybe I'd get an s2000..

I've been thinking this for a while myself. Otherwise, I might not bother with a new car at all. Might get something used. But as long as it's RWD or AWD I'll be happy.

RWD FTW! I'd like to get an 86 corolla if i could. but will probably just work on my supra and rx7

Not surprised at all especially of the latest rumors. Hopefully this car won't be a bust like JaMarcus Russell was to the entire NFL!

I've been through this before a couple years back when Mazda teased us with the RWD Miata based Kabura concept. The Kabura forums blew up overnight because since it was a parts bin car we all just knew it would get green lighted for production. Then a year or so went by with no new info and the forum slowly withered away. The few hardcore members would stop by once in a while but in the end we had to kill the forum. It's not at that point yet with the FT-86 because production for the car isn't slated untill late next year, but the lack of concrete info and the rampant disinformation/rumors are really disheartening.

I'm still holding out hope that the FT-86 is on-track without any major modifications but if I don't have any real info by next summer I may have to start looking at other options.

That was awesome

just because you hear it doesn't necessarily true. So, ok Toyota halts it's production of FT86s. That doesn't mean Baru will also stop their FT86 rival production.

cruz-gsr 06-02-2010 10:09 PM

im on the same boat, if i don't hear anything by the end of the year im goint to start looking for another car, like a 370z or an used 350z.

I'm still here waiting, its just I'm sick and tired of rumors no real solid news from the higher ups people so I'm just here seating, besides the auto show that really matters wont be back till Oct.

FT-86 concept will introduce to America later this year. We all will be feed again LOL..

Jordo! 06-03-2010 10:00 AM

Already bought a new Zed.

2-4 more years of the Celica was losing its appeal.

It's not like I can't trade it in...

BootpTraphik 06-03-2010 01:22 PM

Hopefully this is just the calm before the storm so to speak. I would seriously consider this as a summer car for 2011 or 12 so I'm hoping they dont trash it. Seems like a lot of work done just to halt the project. If that happens I'll just have to go get a little FWD hatch and turbo the s#%t out of it to make me happy. Or I'll just go get a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0, too bad...
