Ello :

It's been awhile and someone reminded me via PM that I had yet to post the results of the UEL shootout from last year (yes, we've been busy!) so without further ado, here are the results...

Readers' Digest Version ~

All cars were 6MT, 92 Octane and most had exhaust systems, sans the vehicle with the JDL UEL which only had a stock exhaust system and an AVO Panel Filter (Dry)...

As you can see, the results are all fairly similar given the variables;

Similar Octane
Similar Tuning Philosophy
Similar Exhaust Components

That being the case, the two two performers will then be JDL and Borla in this case :

So the question now you have to ask yourself is what would be more important to you - the slightly better bottom end torque or the better top end performance with matching torque? Feel free to form your own assessments!

Very interesting!!

But what we really want to know is, are the header flanges flush, and If not did you grind them down?! ;-)

But seriously, awesome work Bob and Bill, great gains for those SC or not wanting FI.

How about e85?! :-P

The results do not take into account the following :

1) Price
2) Price to Performance Ratio
3) Quality
4) Fitment

It only takes into account the yields that we have attained thru the same dyno with the same tuning process with the same fuel... :)

Regards!

Are they skat?

Nice job. Love my borla. It's my favorite mod. My car is tuned to perfection and it sounds better than anything

UEL shootout needs the OFH! Good work, though! Thanks for the info!

i cant belive the borla made more tq in this test. Its the worst finished header ive seen in a while

InvalidJohnny5 03-13-2014 10:57 AM

Borla appears to be the better option if I'm looking at overall torque.

Shiv@Openflash 03-13-2014 11:01 AM

I'm not surprised by the results :)

Good work Bob!

Wow, impressive.

FR-Slide 03-13-2014 11:33 AM

Huh, Borla. Too bad no OFH in the mix.
