HKS flash editor

Hello my tuner friends, I have installed HKS exhaust and HKS intake. Now im thinking if the amount of air flow is changed do i need to tune the ECU? I have looked at the HKS flash editor it seems pretty good. But is an ECU tune at this stage really nesscessary? Thanks :thanks::thanks:

when you said HKS exhaust, is it full system including the header?

flash is not necessary but u will gain more with it. particularly if you have aftermarket header fitted.

As above retune probably not mandatory but if exhaust included headers would yield more gain. Also hks intake may need maf sensor to be re calibrated.

Unless you are experienced at tuning you may want to look at an Open Flash Tablet instead of hks flash editor unless the hks unit also includes tune files for your mods

for around same price you wold get tune files and flash devicefor basic mods

Actually, you will probably want and need a tune if you have a fully swapped exhaust + swapped header + aftermarket intake. If you do not tune it, you may run the risk of running too lean, potentially, and that isn't a good thing.

I am also getting the HKS exhaust system. I already have the catback, and plan on getting the headers as well. From my understanding, the catless header will pop up the check engine light and a tune would fix it. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you looking for a tune that optimized the HKS systems. I've done some research and found out a couple of things. Message me if you wanna share what we know.

Yeah I only have the catback not the headers. Also after I changed the intake I noticed that engine idle rev is lower than before. Is that a problem?
