Made a mistake, went to Wheel Works

I figured I'd give them a shot, they're not even 2 blocks away so while they were doing the mount and balance I could've gone home. So they didn't have the tire in stock, but they'd mount/balance the tire on the wheel and expected to have it in the shop from Florida by Tuesday. I figured I'd drive the MR2 for a few days.

No word from them today and it's been three days, so I head over to see what's up. What's up is, the tire is coming from Virginia, and it takes an extra 8 days to get delivered from there. So it might be here Wednesday. I'm thinking about a refund and just getting Tire Rack to ship me one.

I think @buzznasa has a spare tire that he was maybe willing to lend/donate to you? Cancel the order and get that puppy back on the road! :mad0260:

American Tire, in Mountain View El Camino has one in stock. I spoke to Roger and he confirmed. They close at 6 and are open at 8am. They'll hold it for you.

I was thinkin' about having Tirerack ship me one, $43 cheaper than Wheel works, after shipping.

Yup, no problem there either. I actually shopped Tirerack for my pair of PSS. Then after talking with American Tire (as well as other stores), I found them to be a few dollars less than if I had ordered from Tirerack plus shipping. I did buy the warranty so perhaps that's where my savings went.

wheel works is where Rotas come from right? Always thought they were just a factory, not a tire mount etc

That's a no brainer. $43 can buy you lots of things in this world. :burnrubber:

No, you might be thinking of Wheeldude. They are a local Bay Area based distributor of amongst other brands, the Rota wheels. Rota wheels are made in a factory (or factories) in the Philippines.
