Has anyone purchased the TRD brake pads?

Just trying to see if they are worth it once the originals wear out. If you have them, can you tell the difference? I don't think they've been out that long, but I hope some people can weigh in on it. Here they are in case people want to try them:

They'er slightly upgraded street pads, with the TRD tax. I'd steer you elsewhere.

Thanks for the advice. I guess it's just one of those things where I'm more comfortable adding a Toyota part. Kind of like if I were to do a short shifter, I would only do the TRD one. You know what I'm saying? If it's not worth it, then I won't do it at all with any brand because I rarely track/autox the car.

Check my threads, I have a post on this that a couple ppl chimed in.

I may be the guinea pig just for the hell of it.

Ok, so then the conclusion is they aren't worth it. Thanks guys!

What exactly are you looking for in a pad?

I really wasn't looking for anything specifically. I just thought that maybe when my current brake pads are done, it would be worth it to purchase these. It's mostly a daily and sometimes will go autocrossing. It's not a part I really need, but thought might be a worthy replacement of the OEM ones.

Mike will chime in I'm sure, but it sounds to me like the TRDs are perfect for what you said.

There may be better choices out there for the money due to the TRD tax that was previously mentioned haha. I for one like their products though.

Well, the TRD is a slight upgrade. If you want a substantial upgrade, but still the comfort/silence of a street pad, check out the Winmax W2.

Conveniently, there's a group buy going for it right now too. It's a little bit more than the TRD pad, but you're getting a lot more for your money.

How do they wear compare to the OEM pads? I'm sort of a noob when it comes to the brake systems. I just want quietness like the OEM, but better stopping power, like you said the Winmax would be. I feel like it will be perfect paired with my MCB. Can they be used ok as a daily without any added cooling?

Wear is determined by the user, some people brake too much, others don't.

I would expect to see similar life from the W2 as OEM, as long as you're not abusing/cooking them.

These are 100% street pads; they're perfect for dailying.

I wish everyone was as helpful as you and the other CSG guys. How long is the group buy for? I should just purchase them and have them ready for when I need to replace them.

Until the first 20 sets are sold, I think. PM @CounterSpace Garage for it
