i was reading somewhere that we have 8 speakers on our car.

where are they located? i only count 6 (2 on dash, 2 on door, and 2 in back seats)

4 in dash, 2x 6" "subwoofers" :bellyroll: in door, & 2x 3.5" in back.

There's 2 speakers per side in the dash (3.5" full range and 1" tweeter)

There's 4 in the dash. The tweeter and a speaker behind each grill. :)

according to the fader setting, are the speakers on the doors for the front or rear?

Neither. They're wired as monoaural and are "subwoofers" (oh the hilarity! That's like calling a shitsu a "guard dog"), powered by the factory amp for all LFE and pushed at 33Wrms.
