Dealer says Brz Sti is turboed
Saleslady at Clay Subaru told me that the BRZ STI will be available in a couple of months for order and it comes factory with a turbocharger is there any truth to this?
I insisted that it did not come with a turbocharger but she was very persistent that it did and that I was misinformed. So is she right, or like a typical salesperson and not know shit about the product they're selling? |
Welcome to the forum!
There is no verified information about a factory turbo'd BRZ coming out. The STI is going to be mostly an appearance package. This has been discussed to quite some extent in several threads. I suggest using the search feature before posting. It's also been noted that the lack of knowledge from Subaru / Scion sellers may be hurting sales of these two cars Nick C. |
She has no idea, just full of bull like most dealers.

Sadly, she's incorrect. Subaru staff get their information at the same time the rest of us do.

A Toyota/Scion salesman told me that there's going to be a 250hp turbo version coming out. So stupid..... |
Per my info, No, it will just be dolled up with aero, wheels and interior. No substantiall power bump.

Thanks guys that's exactly what I thought. I tried telling her that it did not come with a turbo and she continued to insist that it did even tried showing me a brochure which didn't exist cuz she couldn't find it.
I know where I'm not going to buy mine. I'll be sure to post up the response I get from the sales manager I sent an email to this morning. |
If you buy your car from Clay, don't get it serviced there. Get your first oil change and never go back. Make sure you inspect the all of the glass for cuts, make sure the service techs don't try to screw the bottom of the license plate into your trunk because there are no holes, and the grommets in the glove compartment are installed onto the body. Also, if they can't open the truck, tell them to read the fucking manual so you aren't waiting around for 4 hours doing PDI that should only take 1.
My buying experience there was on the low side of ok, but service dept there is terrible. It's a serious problem when you go in with a gas leak that stinks up the entire service pull-up area that you can smell from 10ft away when outdoors with the service director and head tech standing over the engine huffing gas and tell you that there's no problem with a straight face. |

But, that sounds like a hear say piece. There was just a post on this forum claiming the twins have had "disappointing" sales. The fact is, in it's short existence, it has outsold the miata year for year. How does that equate to poor sales? |
