Best detailer in Portland/Vancouver?

Hello all,

I'm up in Vancouver, WA. I've had my lightning red BRZ for about 2 weeks, and it had quite a few scratches from the factory. I had the dealer attempt their detail on it, and now it has scratches and holograms. I'm just wondering what's the best/most reasonable detailer out in the area?

I'd attempt to fix it myself with my PC 7424, but I don't want to make it any worse.

Thanks!

Thomas Dekany does excellent work, and is truly an artist with regards to detailing. His prices are fair, and he won't overcharge you.

I won't let anyone else touch my car after a few experiences I had before finding him. We really are very fortunate to have someone like him local to our area.

His website is here - http://tdekany.com/

Good luck! Also, don't ever let the dealer attempt to do anything detail, washing, etc. oriented stuff to your car in the future unless you want it to get marred cosmetically in the process :(

I second Thomas Dekany. He did my new car prep and Opticoat, it turned out great. Of course I've had debts and scratches since then... :-(

Hit up the service manager Andrew at D1ck Hannah Subaru. Tell him Nick Hatch sent you.

Dekany is a master, but his prices certainly reflect that. He quoted me in the $500 ballpark just for paint correction, and opti-coat is another $400.

I'm sure it's worth every cent, but I can't justify nearly $900 on a car wash.

Nick: What can Andrew do for us?

I'm also looking at Attention2Detail NW in vancouver. I've visited the shop now and they seem really good. doesn't hurt that all you see in there are high end cars (M3, S4, Maclaren MP41, etc). I'll probably go with him or Dekany.

Although now that I've read up on Meguair's D300.. I'm very interested.

Has anyone opticoated theirs? I've noticed the Red paint is super super soft and even fingers put microscratches in it. I was curious if the opti-coat helps.

I met with Dekany today. Super nice dude. Will definitely invest in his services when I have the cash. He walked me through Opti-Coat and answered all my questions. If you can swing the investment, it seems like it's worth it.
