I miss the crickets

Was just checking out 86 videos as I do almost daily.. and suddenly realized that my car has been winterized for way too long and I have come to even miss the crickets. I am so desperate I have become mad at my car and don't even look at it in the garage anymore..

The winter here in Ottawa has just been brutal this year (by Ottawa standards) and on the Quebec side we are required to have winter tires until march 15, and it does not seem we'll be able to ride around on summers for another two weeks after that..

There you go. Another one of my drunken rants.

So please fellow 86ers, a little prayer for your cousins up north for some decent weather can't hurt.

I got my fuel pump replaced and no crickets so far.... I don't miss them, but I'll welcome them with open arms when they do return.

The weather has been brutal alright. It hasn't stopped me from having a blast driving in the snow. Much more fun with the RWD and the nannies do a fantastic job of keeping it safe. Must admit it wasn't so fun when there was >10cm of snow on the roads, but only found myself in the deep stuff a couple of times.

I highly recommend grabbing some winter tires and joining the party next year!

They will come back. I was one of the first ones to get the new pump. They only solution is using Shell gas (In Cali)

Same here, had 10cm last night, another almost 4cm during the day and suppose to get another up to 5cm overnight again all at -5c to -10c range with winds up to 50km/hr makes for fun driving. Nannies do help and winter tires are a must.

my jeeps insurance is up at the end of the month.
here on the west coast its kind of a joke with how little winter we get. in my view they still salt / brine the shit out of the roads so may as well cut down on my vehicles wear and tear. can't wait for the 27th:burnrubber:

Im sure this has been debated left and right, but is the best gas Shell 91 or Chevron 94...

Waiting on my Monogram and only want to use the best gas.

NepeanFR-S 03-15-2014 09:43 AM

I've only ever used Shell 91, and have yet to hear the crickets.

I been driving mine in this shiat all year. I miss having a clean car and not driving on 16" balloons.

Triumphrider 03-15-2014 10:01 AM

Mine is my winter driver as well here just outside Toronto....no crickets here either since new. Only have used Shell 91 though, if I have got gas elsewhere it was only $10 to hold me til i found a shell station.

Ditto that. The brz sure was fun with snow on the ground but now it's melted the winter tire float is getting very old.
