Anyone as good as Delicious in the NY/NJ area?

Almost 6 months ago all the "famous" Subaru tuners I called on the east coast said they were not investing in EcuTeck and wait for Romraider/ECUFlash.

They said they were making do financially with Cobb and WRX's and had no reason to buy a EcuTek license.

These are guys who have been tuning Subarus for racing teams for years, been in magazines, interviews on the internet etc.

I'm in PA and some rookie tuner just opened up a Ecutek shop but I want a 10+ year Subaru tuner.
Any rumors floating around out there that shops are finally getting the Ecutek license or using ecuflash here in the mid atlantic?

I know about Moto-Mike, I tuner without a dyno (no thanks.)

Mainly all I want it track tough tune, no tip-in knock-doesn't take 25 minutes to warm up, the latest calib, short closed loop, doesn't lean out and over heat. Basically just fix the factory tun with for off-road use only.

only ecutek shop i can think of off hand is prime motoring in rutherford nj. thats north near giants stadium. they have a mustang dyno and a tuner that they call over. he doesnt really belong to the shop . names JR. he has done alot of fast gtrs etc

Its weird how the west coast has these unbelievably Subaru experienced tuners who have discovered fixes to some of the no-no's with the factory tune but the east coast is way behind.

I guess Subarus sell more on the west coat to performance folks and the east coast is just get my wrx thru the winter :)

subaru tuning is a small group of people when you think of what car mostly goes to dyno tune.. i can find u 10 honda shops with dynos and probably 7 r35 gtr tuners. i got the oft, the a updated tune and data logged and redited it my self.

@JuniorAWD at Prime, or you can go to Mike Botti at EFI Logics.

Talk to Prime, I called them about my car the other day and they are great to talk to. JR comes in and does the tune on there dyno.

LOL on your sig when I use that Regal on a non-car forum people just scratch their heads. Even now on car forum people forget a $5 needle valve from ace hardware turned the sleeper rwd regal into a 12 second car. Buick embarassed the heck out of corvette and it was killed, same thing could happen to our cars with a factory tubro.

What happened to hime I was bugging him with a lot of questions but it seemed he was only interested in the innovate not a stock or header tune. I do remember some impressive data logs with the tip-in nock reduced significantly but it was with the innovate.

FI allows more power with less timing and can sometimes lead to less knock than NA with DI. One of the reasons FI+DI has become so popular. Mike seemed to have that figured out but he didn't have a dyno and vanished so I don't know. He isn't far from me.

Xero-Limit 03-06-2014 10:19 PM

hmm...we do probably 10 NA tunes for any FI tune, so plenty of those :)

And I do like dynos, we have one that will hopefully be running again soon and you can find me @ R/T or other local dynos quite often. For simple NA stuff that we've seen a bunch of times we try to save the customer money by doing some street pulls if that's what they want.

But if you want Bill's tune then just talk to him and he'll take care of you. Most of the non-banned tuners deliver a good product.
