Watch the weight on anything besides CF, even most CF trunks weigh more than the stock aluminum one.

I think you are meaning the hood? The trunk is steel.

Aero jacket is similar and has a fiber glass version it can be seen here.

Nope, the trunk is aluminum too from what I've read... I'll try with a magnet tonight though to be 100% sure.

You might wanna have a magnet in hand before you second guess the guy with Subaru in his screen name that sells Subarus.

The only Aluminum Trunks available from subaru are for the Spec C version STi Sedans.

The trunk is pretty heavy, I thought it was aluminum as well, but after taking it off it wasn't as light as expected. Probably steel

Its steel. I've drilled a few holes in mine :) hood is the only aluminum panel
