Invidia resonated vs. HKS resonated fp

Does anyone have experience or any input on both the resonated front pipes from Invidia and HKS? Which one does a better job with sound suppression? HKS has two resonators in the places where the stock piece has the cat and Helmholtz, and Invidia only has one, but seems to be larger. Thoughts?

I'm also wondering the same

If it's a question of quality the HKS would be my choice. As far as bang for the buck Invidia always wins.

Do you plan on mating a cat back exhaust or keeping that stock?

Well they're similar in price. Found the HKS for $295 and invidia for around $260. So not much of a difference there. And I have an evo3 and plan on a header in my future

hks is smaller diameter than nvidia, it is just a tad larger than stock diameter. If you decide to go hks hit me up, I will make you a deal on mine, only used a couple months. I would go nvidia though.

That's good to know. Definitely would not have guessed that. I'm leaning towards the invidia side now for sure. Do you know how they compare sound wise or are they the same?

No idea on sound. I got the HKS because of the double resonator design, ever since i did my header it got loud and raspy and I wanted to keep my 2.5" straight through catback. In the end i decided to go back to my nameless front pipe and change the catback to nvidia Q300... best decision i have made in a while

I will say i felt a loss in power going to the HKS from my nameless catted front pipe, which i was shocked by, but given the smaller ID of the hks part and the nameless cat is a 200 cell metallic core it make sense. the power came back as soon as I put the nameless pipe back on.

I have a catted (non-resonated, though) invidia FP, and I couldn'
t be happier with it. No rasp at all, sounds fantastic and install was smooth--perfect fitment. =)

Invidia Catless Front Pipe with

resonator. Perfection. No rasp.

Awesome. Thanks for the input guys! Will be going with invidia! Never owned an invidia product before, but sounds like I won't be disappointed.

i have a jdl unequal length header Invidia Resonated front pipe and 2.5in overpipe with just a greddy rear section and since my header install there is resonance coming from the front pipe, sounds kinda like a exhaust leak but more of just a flutter due to the thin wall , tu be exact it comes from the resonator reminds me of the sound a exhaust makes when you empty out a cat, or burn tru the packing wool in a resonator, fitment and quality is good, but dam its annoying now with that fluttering sound from the underside of that car i hear it in tunnels before i hear the tailpipe noise drives me nuts , and NO there is absolutly no exhaust leak , i have not tried the factory pipe back on but i think i might upgrade to a front pipe with thicker wall and possibly a hfc, my experience with hfc is usually better on a NA car unless your running very hi rpm like a f20c at 8500-9000rpm the hfc will give a more mellow sound and actually fill in low end rpm torque where a full catless system will take torque away and allow more hi rpm power, i love the smell of a lean mixture going out a catless system tho mMMmmmmmmmm :)
