Auto window?

Noob to the forums here, first post. I plan on buying a BRZ here soon. First thing that will be done to the car will be window tint, after searching through the forum I was unable to find a clear answer to this auto window function. What is it, what does it do, and does anyone have a video of it? Btw out of all of the forums that I am a member of, this one by far is the easiest to navigate.

The windows rolls down about half an inch when you open the door and rolls back up to seal the door when you close it.

The switch for the windows in the cabin allows you to do auto down by pressing down on the it all the way; pull up all the way for auto up.

what is the purpose of the window rolling down upon opening the door?

Allows for the air pressure inside to balance when the opening/closing doors smooth transition. In addition if you notice, our doors do not have a top frame, so it also aids in creating a water tight seal because the window goes up under the weather stripping.

Many vehicles have an air extractor (actually terminilogy may be incorrect) usually located in the rear bumper. However to save weight, many sports cars feature the roll down feature when opening/closing door.

It also helps prevent the window from breaking when you shut the door.

Are you referring to the AutoWindow modules that allow the windows to be opened using the keyfob buttons?

I test drove an FRS a few weeks ago and never noticed it. Glad to know. Thanks!

The site is set up great. But here is a hint to make life even more simple by using the magic of Google. In Google, if you type the key words of what you want to find out, followed by site:www.ft86club.com. It will list out every relevant thread, conversation, etc.

It has helped me out a ton, so I hope it helps you out, and saves you a bit of time as well. Welcome to the forum.
