How Much Does It Cost To Maintain A Lamborghini Gallardo?

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhxNGUte5Qk[/ame]

Quote:

Is that a moot question for most of us? Probably yes. Is there a petrolhead who has never relished the thought of owning one of the exotics we drool over on screen and paper? We know the answer to that, too.

The main obstacle is, obviously, the six-figure price that starts with a ?2?, at the very least. What if that sticker price was less than half? Yep, you?d have to second-hand, but even though it?s still lots of money - and way out of our league - the customer base broadens up considerably.

Case at hand: the Lamborghini Gallardo. With 14,022 units produced since 2003, it?s the best-selling Lambo ever so there?s no shortage of used ones out there at any given time. In fact, since it was available as a Coupe or Spyder, with a six-speed manual or semi-auto (E-Gear) transmission, two facelifts (in 2007 and 2012, numerous special editions (we stopped counting at 20) and all- or two-wheel drive, one is spoilt for choice.

By now, if you were a. considering something in that price range, or b. thinking about getting a second mortgage and selling a kidney while scanning the ads, you might want to consider running costs. Yes, you do know that a highly-strung piece of Italian exotica won?t be anything like a Camry, but if you can get an early, recently-serviced example, only drive it on special occasions, take good care of it, then maybe?

Here?s a first-hand experience of what it cost to run the baby Lambo for 9 months and 7,500 miles. Let the figures sink in and you will want to keep the kidney and your house at all costs ? pun most definitely intended.

Lamborghini Concept S Fails To Sell At RM's New York Auction

Quote:

Certainly one of the headlines for RM Sotheby's at its recent Driven by Disruption auction in New York was the very special 2006 Lamborghini Concept S.

As a matter of fact, it was the very first car included in the auction and was expected to sell for between $2.4 million and $3 million. Unfortunately, it crossed the auction block without being sold.

It isn't known exactly why the true one-off failed to find a new home but it is reported that bidding didn't exceed the unknown reserve placed on the Italian supercar. While that's a shame, it's certainly not uncommon for valuable cars like this one to not sell at auction as the market doesn't seem to be willing to pay whatever the reserve is, likely over $2 million.

Given how special the Concept is however, we would expect it to be placed for sale or making an appearance at another auction in the near future.

Rather amazingly, Lamborghini actually commissioned a 100 unit production run of the Concept S for its very best customers. But after this first example was produced, it was decided that it was too costly and time-consuming to produce. Despite not making it to production, the car has been shown around the world from Lamborghini's own museum at its Italian factory through to two appearances at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Underground Racing Gallardo Sets New 1/2 Mile World Record at 234.86 MPH

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsJ2euGY0No[/ame]

Quote:

Those of you who are familiar with Underground Racing know that they're not in the 'going fast for no reason' business. They're in the record-setting business...and business is a-boomin!

And yes I just threw out an Inglorious Basterds reference, because why not? Ambushing people is what these twin turbo Gallardos do best. It doesn't matter whether you're driving a Veyron or anything else of that nature, because you're getting left behind in a straight line.

Actually, just out of curiosity, I'd love to see a drag race between this LP570-4 with the UR X Package Twin Turbo System, and a Koenigsegg Agera R.

Anyway, let's move on to the world record because it was nothing short of spectacular. The Gallardo passed the mark at a mind-boggling 234.86 mph (377.97 km/h). And according to the VBOX data, it only needed 2 seconds in order to get from 100 mph (160 km/h) to 150 mph (241 km/h), and a total of 5 seconds to get from 100 mph to 200 mph (321 km/h)!

According to the video description, all UR X versions ran good and made the top three speed runs of the Oregon Airstrip Attack event.

There was also an AWD Roll Race where the UR Gallardos finished 1st-3rd. As for the 1/2 mile record, it's been in Underground Racing's pocket since May of 2013. Since then, it's only been broken by other UR cars, according to them. However, we did have that AMS Alpha Omega GT-R do a 224.91 mph (360 km/h) 1/2 mile run earlier this year - which they claimed was a world record.

As for the "Gallardo-only" 1/2 mile record, it's been with Underground Racing since October 2009.

Except it has nothing to do with that specific video or the car in that video.

Also, why is everything Carscoops? Is that some sort of reputable car site (i.e. not clickbait)?

Packofcrows 01-15-2016 01:30 AM

$7,200 for 5k miles?

$100-ish for FRS 23k miles

I'll pass on a supercar...unless I can swap a V8 old muscle engine to lower maintenance! (or unless its a mp4 12c)

...jk i'd rather get a R32 or '97 TT Supra.

..............................JK JK i'd rather get like 3 FRS/BRZ and have one for DD, one for track and one for LS/2J swap (Frankenstein car)

Its all Gallardo related. Its also called an "official thread". For example, why do we need 20 threads on the Civic?

Everything goes into one main thread so we don't keep talking about the same thing over and over. This how its been done from day one. The rules haven't changed. What has changed is new members that can't read or just want to feel special and make a new thread on xxx that is already being discussed.

For example

FT-1 thread

S-FR thread

LC thread

NSX thread

For me Carscoops is easier to post pics from. Doesn't matter if its Autoblog, Worldcarfans, MotorAuthority, LeftLane News, and etc, they all get their info from the same place.

None of your posts are related to that specific Gallardo nor is this an "official thread." All you're doing is needlessly bumping up old threads with irrelevant posts.

An "official thread" doesn't have to have "official" in the thread title. To us original members its understood that if someone makes a thread you should add on too it. It maybe irrelevant to you, but others are reading and posting.

Maybe the threads were dormant for years because nobody cares anymore bruh

I find the update interesting. If you look on the other thread people are posting. If you don't care than why bother posting? I guess trollers got to do what trollers go to do.
