Perin CAI W/O tune! good or not ?

Hi fellows,

I just want to make sure, i know i should have just bought an drop-in :P but i already have it installed on the car!

here what is my situation : i am at 800miles on the car! i am looking to get an header + OP + FP and put my car on DYNO :).

My question is would it cause something big if i do like 4000 miles with the CAI by the time i get everything ?

With logic i would say no! but i would like some opinion :)

thanks guys/girls!

I drove my brz for a while with a perrin cai without a spesific tune for it.
No problem at all.
But this only counts for the 2-1/2" cai, the 3" version needs a tune.
Maf calibration will be way of with the bigger tube.

@Andreas83 is right, the normal PERRIN CAI is fine to run with a normal tune. Only the big MAF intake will require a special tune. The MAF table is available for that intake here.

So if i am going to buy an OFT, Running stage 2 on 93 octane gas, i should not worry with the normal CAI in term of long time ??

Since the normal one doesn't need to do a MAF scaling ?

Sorry, I'm not sure what OFT is. If you have the normal PERRIN CAI, then a map that's made for the stock intake will work fine.

Open Flash Tune/Tablet :)

The oft tunes are optimized for the stock intake. It will not be ideal for the CAI. Jamesm and some others have discussed how to adjust the maf. I recommend looking into it.

Got it, sorry! You might want to ask your tuner, but you should be fine.

Yea thanks every one :) i think i will pass on OFT and go with a local tuner/Dyno - Custom Tune! I feel more confident in long run with a local tuner than OFT :P
