IAT logging, what are you guys seeing?
 

I'm sure this has been covered in some of the FI kit owner topics, but I wanted to get more of a general idea of what IAT numbers are floating around with various FI set ups. I'm no engineer so my FI knowledge is a bit lacking but in order to get a accurate reading, the IAT sensor needs to be post turbo/SC in to the throttle body correct? In my current set up, the MAF sensor is by the intake so I cannot get a accurate IAT reading.

What kind of set up do you guys run to read this accurately? Also what IAT numbers are you seeing? I'm sure ambient temperature has to do with varying numbers as well, but with most IC set ups from 8 ~ 12 psi, I'm curious what IAT is considered "safe" or normal range.

I'm planning on putting a IAT/AFR/EGT (already have boost gauge) in the near future, and was curious what the safe ranges on some of these parameters are for the FA20, or any general FI set up.

Also just out of curiosity, what kind of IAT's are we seeing with the non-inter-cooled Innovate twin screw kit?

IAT will largely depend on ambient air temperatures. That said, mine are usually about 10 degrees above ambient.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't realize you were asking specifically about Innovate!

The Innovate is the one kit we don't have good IAT numbers on due to the MAF/IAT being placed pre supercharger. I kniw some guys have added an IAT sensor to the plate on the manifold, but last I saw the numbers were questionable. I know my FBM turbo kit got IATs near ambient except when stopped and idling.

Like tut said, the iat is in the maf. So, in order to get real post-blower data you'd have to wire in something like a gm iat and place it in the manifold. This really sucks because it makes tuning speed density a less-than-ideal situation without it, you have to use comps in place of actual iat measurement. Not a big deal since the blower isn't big enough to max the maf anyway afaik, but still a bummer.
